-Megan & Mike’s Wedding-

  • September 9, 2010 2:16 am

There were so many great details about this wedding that it was hard for me to decide what to focus on in this blog.  From the bagpipes during the ceremony, trumpet solo dedication to a special family member during the reception to a stop at the fire station, it was such a perfect day.  Not to mention I knew so many people… past brides, past clients, current clients.  Makes the day that much more fun and it was great to see everyone again!  The one thing I loved on this day though was the very short video the bride and groom filmed.  Have you ever seen the segment on Good Morning America on Sunday mornings called Your Week in Three Words?  I absolutely love this small part of the show and it makes me cry almost every week.  Anyway, Megan and Mike did their own little three words and it was so adorable.  I blogged the photos below so you could see it.  Please put them on the show Good Morning America!!!!!  Their first dance was so great too.  They danced to “Smile” by Uncle Kracker and Mike literally sang (out loud, very loud) the whole song to Megan.  It was so cute!  You will see her big smiles in the dancing pictures below.  I would be smiling too if someone was singing to me like that.  What a beautiful wedding day for a beautiful couple!  Thanks everyone!

Love Story

A little over a year ago, friends of Greg and Stephanie thought these two should meet.  Like, on a date meet.  So it was set: Greg planned a date night consisting of a beautiful evening on his boat, cruising the Lake Erie waters.  Shortly after he knew he was falling in love with this girl and Steph was feeling the same.  Earlier this summer they went out on the boat again, this time to go fishing.  Stephanie was happily fishing while Greg insisted that she needed a different fishing pole.  She is oblivious to the fact that he had a ring for her for the last two months and it is currently dangling from the other fishing pole in the bottom of the boat. Well, it all worked out, maybe not how easily as Greg had planned but that doesn’t matter. We all know what really matters.

These two have a special chemistry that is so alive and real.  Going to  many weddings it never get’s old to hear the ever so beautiful passage on love.  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  It is one thing to hear these words and it is another thing to live these words.  Steph and Greg you both are wonderful people and I am truly happy that you found each other to share life’s moments with.

What better place to take engagement photos than a backdrop of boats?

Stephanie, I knew when I took this picture that it would be my favorite.  I thought you belonged in California. You are so beautiful.

-JEM Product-

Hi JEM fans!  We hardly ever get to show off our end products after all of the browsing, ordering, editing and printing is done.  We are now offering a square canvas ranging in size from 25×25 to 30×30.  The canvas features 49 images to showcase a wedding day in one large piece.  Of course your canvas will hang on your wall or sit on a shelf, but for JEM purposes I just had to hang in nature and include a field.

Thanks Niki and Steve for letting us use your portraits on this!

-Landin, McKenna & Clifford?-

Bet you’re wondering why I have a picture of a big red dog at the beginning of this blog.  Well, thought I would blog about one of JEM’s most prized possession around here.  We see smiles through our cameras everyday, but most of the time Clifford has something to do with these smiles.  I mean the occasional singing, dancing, noise making and a constant supply of fruit snacks in our pocket helps too, but Clifford is usually who we have to thank for the big grins in our pictures.  It’s amazing how every kid knows who Clifford is.  They’re never ever afraid of him and he always seems to get those big JEM smiles.  Granted he’s usually perched on my head while I shoot… yes I have perfected this move and usually it gets more smiles out of the parents than the kids.  Anyway, thought I would give Clifford some credit since many many JEM smiles have come from him over the years.

It was no different on this beautiful morning at Secor Park.  Clifford accompanied me to this shoot and he worked his magic once again. This was the first time meeting this family and I could not get over how the kids looked like their parents.  Honestly, little McKenna looks just like her Mom and Landin is a spittin image of his Dad!  Funny how those things work.

Thank you family!  Hope the fair was so fun!

-Niki & Steve, Wedding Day-

  • September 6, 2010 9:54 pm

There’s so much I could say about this wedding that if I started to write, the words would probably be longer than the picture blog itself.  So I’m going to keep this one simple.  Weekend after weekend I witness and photograph the amazing and awesome thing called love.  The weekend of June 12th 2010 was no different.  To this particular bride and groom, Niki and Steve, I hope the experience of love and your wedding day made you feel completely alive.  Where every sense was heightened, every emotion was magnified and you felt like you were flying into the heavens.  Yes, the day only lasted a few hours, but it doesn’t fade its value.  The memories you are left with will be treasured for the rest of your lives.  May the pictures below remind you of that awesome love word, now and forever.

Want to see more from this wedding?  I hope so because there’s much more coming!  MUCH MORE!  To be continued….
