When something wonderful in my life happens I tend to take a mental photograph so that I can have it forever etched in my mind. Like, the evening my husband proposed to me, I will always remember that cold March sun fading into the evening behind leafless trees. Or the moment I first glimpsed the Rocky Mountains way, way in the distance from the dashboard window. Or, the first time I was able to see my tiny nephew held up to me from behind the nursery glass.
Everett Ryan was born 2 weeks early on February 26th on a blustery winter evening. He came home the following Monday and is the center of his proud mama and daddys’ world. He is just a ‘peanut’ and I am loving watching him grow. Here is the new addition to our JEM blog:

OH MY CUTE! This little one was so fun to photograph. You will see by the first few photos that she wasn’t sure of Jen, Em and the camera but she sure warmed up. She totally looks like a cabbage patch doll I used to have when I was a kid! ADORABLE! Thank you Kristi! Wonderful little one you have!

Andrew and Nicole came to the studio this week with their sweet, Lela Claire. I love this name! She was one month old on Monday but she slept like a day old baby. Thank you guys for letting me capture your little ‘jem’ …

I have seen little Emerson at every milestone since she was born. Posted one of her newborn pics to start to see how she has grown. What fun to see her get so big. This little girl has so much spunk! Tara and Josh thanks for visiting us here at our new digs and can’t wait to see you when #2 comes along.

As much as I have tried to block out my junior high days, I can still remember the extreme akward age like it was yesterday…the age when I never knew my hair was naturally curly so therefore I brushed it (glamorous), or the way I wore my brother’s jeans and thought they were cool (not really), and the countless other ways that make me look back and laugh. The reason I say this is because Baily, miraculously skipped this akward age. This girl is so stinkin cute! She has her Mama’s big brown eyes and she laughs infront of the camera with ease. I have wanted to take her picture for a long time and so glad we had the chance on a beautiful March evening!

For the picture below we jetted from the car to this spot to catch the very last 30 seconds of sunlight. Enough fading light for this ONE picture…

Baily-your sweet spirit was a joy to photography. Thank You!
I was in Madeira, Ohio this past weekend (just outside of Cincinnati) visiting a friend and her daughter. I had such a great time and just had to post some of the pictures. Little Mckenna was so excited that we were there. As a gift we got her a little dance outfit and she never took it off, she slept in it, played in it….. adorable! She says the funniest things…. I asked her, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” She said, “Cinderella.” So cute! We were also talking about nicknames and I asked her what mine should be. She told me it should be Princess!!! (I’ll take it). Everything we did, whether we went to the mall or just went sightseeing she said, “wasn’t that an awesome adventure?” Mckenna, you are one of a kind. Thanks Stacy for such an awesome weekend.

A little lady after my own heart… camera in hand.

After photographing their wedding a few years ago, I now get the pleasure of photographing their new bundle of joy, Mylee Joyce. For those clients of mine who have looked at our sample wedding albums you will recognize this couple!
They are still as beautiful as ever and are so sweet together. I was so excited when Jeremy brought his cowboy hat… I was going to ask him to bring it but never got a chance and low and behold he read my mind! Makes for a great Daddy and Daughter pic. JEM loves you guys! It was so great to see you both again.

A photographer’s dream these two little girls are! I have taken pictures for this family a few times so Kendall (the older sister) knows what to expect now. She came into the studio all dressed up, sparkly shoes and hair curled ready for her turn. She was so patient waiting for her sister. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Kendall practicing her dance moves. She brought her dance outfits for last and was anxiously waiting for her performance. I cleared the studio, turned on only one light and played Clair de Lune (for you music buffs out there). I will never listen to that song the same again. There is just nothing better than the innocence and the excitement of a little girl dancing her heart out. Hope the pics melt your heart as much as they did mine.

I met up with Erin, Kevin and their sweet dog, Todd at Oak Openings on a blustery, beautiful Saturday. We had an awesome time taking pictures on well carved paths that reminded us all of something out of a Robert Frost poem. Erin and Kevin I am more than looking forward to your wedding in a few months…

Erin you are soooooo purrrdy ….

Just before this engagement shoot I thought, “I sure hope it snows”. I no sooner got my camera out and the flakes started coming! Erika and Brandon are so beautiful and comfortable around eachother, it’s so cute to watch. What an awesome love shoot! Thanks guys for enduring the cold, snow and changing clothes in the middle of nature

Thank you for the snow mother earth!
