This past Saturday evening I was invited to photograph Luke’s 2nd birthday party. Of course the evening was filled with lots of kids, laughs, noise
, family, friends and great food. On a side note, the food was from Detroit Beach in Monroe and it was excellent! Never had it before but I hear its a local favorite. Thanks to all the family, friends and to you Lynde for a great evening! Happy Birthday Luke!

Beautiful SistersMay 24th, 2010We photographed these two gorgeous sisters the other day and it was hard to go through and choose which photos to show on our blog…I loved them all! We photographed these two gorgeous sisters the other day and it was hard to go through and choose which photos to show on our blog…I loved them all! Calista and Emy’s mom, Haley is our website designer and is one talented woman (www.wingeddesign.com), so it is no surpise when she had packed some unique things for us to play around with. This was the first time the girls laid eyes on the fire truck and they loved it! The gigantic lollipops is something that I have wanted to do for a long time so I was so excited that Haley had found them! We had a great time meandering through downtown Grand Rapids with you all!

At the reception for Phil and Kate, Kate’s dad gave a speech and in that speech he told the story of how the two met. Phillip and his family lived in Hong Kong for most of the 90′s and every summer they would come back and visit and stay at their Thea Tina’s house. Across the street lived the Barth’s and little 9 year old Katie fell for Phillip and made the announcement that she would marry this boy one day. Well, that day came the 8th of May in Tampa, Florida where they live. The day was gorgeous as they celebrated along with their close family and friends. As always, it was a pure joy for me to be able to photograph your day. Love to you both!

-Simon & Vera-May 20th, 2010As soon as I stepped out of my car at the Montrie house the other day, Simon greeted me with the biggest running and leaping hug that just about knocked me over. As soon as I stepped out of my car at the Montrie house the other day, Simon greeted me with the biggest running and leaping hug that just about knocked me over. What a greeting, right? He steals my heart every time I photograph him! Its so fun hanging out with these little ones and capturing their age. I was so excited to use an old wooden playpen for Vera. I actually found the playpen in my attic after we bought our house years ago. I have been meaning to get it down, clean it up and use it…. in a field of course. Vera you were perfect for it! Thanks for the fun family!!!

Bree & BrandonMay 19th, 2010Quick story: Julie (Bree’s mom) took her for a haircut and as a final touch the stylist curled her long locks. Quick story: Julie (Bree’s mom) took her for a haircut and as a final touch the stylist curled her long locks. Bree got home, snuck her kindergarden scissors and decided the curls would look better on the floor. She proceeded to wear a hoodie for the next 4 hours and not until she was jumping around with her cousin did Julie look twice at what she thought wasn’t true. O, but it was. Bree then had to revisit the stylist for a pixie cut. Bree-you are a delight to photograph and run around with and catch my breath with! And Brandon, you are a sweetie-pie, content in the field just running and falling down. I hope you can see the personality in these two in their pictures!

Bree filled in Brandon’s wish: ‘ I WISH that all my other wishes come true’
