-Baby Ethan, aka Rocky-

June 24th, 2010

This is baby Ethan Jacob, he’s 5 weeks old and he fought me to the bitter end to fall asleep for this shoot.   Thus his new nickname, Rocky!  It was so funny because he was all cozy with blankets, fed, burped, changed…  All was good in Ethan’s world but would he sleep?  Not a chance.  [...]

Katie - Thanks so much again!  Aren’t these sleeping shots so worth our wait?  :o

He’s Not a Peanut Anymore

I get to see Everett every Monday because I am the proud babysitter to this nephew of mine.  I wish I had a camera in hand this past Monday when after I couldn’t figure out the stroller (the extra- difficult snap in car carrier type) I decided to try a walk out with the kangaroo pouch. I am sure you are familiar with the kind that has fifty thousand snaps and none of them work properly, so the three month old that I was going to carry with me appears limp and unsecure. I was too afraid to leave the house with him looking that way  for fear of what the neighbors might think, so I opted for some inside time.  Anyways, he stopped by the studio yesterday for some professional pictures and maybe it’s just me, but I think he recognizes his Auntie Em already! He’s almost gurgling out my name.  I had to include the picture of Angie in here-she didn’t know she was going to be part of the picture but her cooing at Everett was so sweet and motherly. I love you both!

Was anyone at Wildwood this past Saturday morning?  Well we scheduled our appt for Caleb’s portraits this past Saturday at Wildwood and as usual we decided to meet in front of the playground there.  I knew I was in trouble driving into the park when I saw a whole line of cars rolling in and parking attendants standing all along the drive.  There was a kids camp, a pancake breakfast and a 5K race ALL at Wildwood… on Saturday… in the morning!  I have never seen this park so crowded.  All the parking spaces were filled and all the fields of grass were full of cars too.  Anyway, we eventually met up and found a small part of a path that was not occupied with runners, pancakes and camping fun and started our shoot for Caleb.  Not a few minutes into the shoot I hear the 5K race start and at that point all of the runners (and there were tons) start running by our small piece of path.  It was perfect though because little Caleb was so entertained and I was able to get so many great smiles.

Andrea – Thanks for thinking of me for Caleb’s pictures and I hope they will be a good memory of your nephew until you see him again in Alaska!

It really is the best when my littlest of clients know and recognize me when I photograph them.  I arrived at Wildwood last week and I was greeted by Justin with the words “Cheese” and “we’re gonna take pichers.”  He then immediately pulls out his camera to show me.  Of course I was so very [...]

It really is the best when my littlest of clients know and recognize me when I photograph them.  I arrived at Wildwood last week and I was greeted by Justin with the words “Cheese” and “we’re gonna take pichers.”  He then immediately pulls out his camera to show me.  Of course I was so very excited about this.  The first picture in this blog shows him in action.  Notice the position of the camera!  So so so hilarious to me.  Love it when kids like cameras!  Anyway, we had a great time enjoying the sun, looking for chipmunks and telling stories with Justin and his brother Joel.  I have photographed both of them since they were babies and again its awesome to see them get so big.

Marsha and Jim – I was thinking about it and you guys have been coming to me since the beginning when we were in the house studio in Maumee.  Remember that?   Thank you once again for allowing me to photograph the boys.  See you at the new studio very soon!

Gosh this was such a gorgeous shoot!  After photographing their wedding and lots of shoots in between, Kristi and Phil are now expecting their third child.   They will add a little baby boy to their two daughters in a few weeks.   Honestly, the only thing I could compare Kristi to as I was photographing her was a beautiful rainbow.  Maybe a colorful, vintage, pastel rainbow but still a radiant rainbow.  Makes me think of the Rolling Stones song, She’s a Rainbow.  If you haven’t heard that song yet you need to.  Its such a pretty song but fun at the same time.   I think the Rolling Stones said it best, she’s like a rainbow!   Don’t you agree?  So beautiful.
