Last week was the week for newborn baby boys! Little Gavin came to the studio and slept till the near end of our photo session. The first thing I said when I saw him was, look at those lips! They are so distinct and pretty (if I can say that about a baby boy’s lips) He rested ever so comfortably in an old pail and never once did he object to this idea 🙂  Either did mom or dad! Jennifer and Michael, I love the  pictures of you two holding baby Gavin- you both have so much warmth and pride showing on your faces. Thank you so much for trusting JEM with Gavin’s first portrait!

(Luke) Beautiful Newborn Boy

August 27th, 2010

So much I could say about this family…Justin and Tiffany you are both such awesome parents.  I love how you both compliment each other as husband and wife. Ella is a true gem and it’s obvious she loves her baby brother so much from all the kisses she wants to give him. Tiff-little Luke didn’t […]

Ella is a true gem and it’s obvious she loves her baby brother so much from all the kisses she wants to give him. Tiff-little Luke didn’t want to fall asleep at the end, but it doesn’t matter in the final picture. I just love how Ella has this look of “this is my baby brother and I will always protect him”  It’s always great to see you, I literally could have kept on photographing for the rest of the day.

There is just so much I could say about this little one and her parents.  First of all, Mylee’s mommy and I go way back…. WAY back.  Right Susie?!I love the fact that I’ve done your wedding and have had the pleasure of watching your immediate and extended family grow.  Mylee is now 6 months […]

There is just so much I could say about this little one and her parents.  First of all, Mylee’s mommy and I go way back…. WAY back.  Right Susie?!I love the fact that I’ve done your wedding and have had the pleasure of watching your immediate and extended family grow.  Mylee is now 6 months (JEM’s most favorite age to shoot).  If you follow the blog you might remember Mylee’s newborn portraits with her daddy and the cowboy hat.  Of course we had to use the cowboy hat again for this shoot.  I love the mood this hat brings with it.  So not typical of Toledo area but still very cool in a Tim McGrawish kind of way!  Right Jeremy? 🙂

Jeremy and Susie – Thank you once again for allowing me to photograph your little one.  Love catching up and laughing together.  Susie, we are seriously considering using your sign idea for gawkers when we shoot.  🙂

-McKenna turns 2-

August 26th, 2010

The Wolcott House was our backdrop the other day for McKenna’s 2 year portraits.  Can’t believe I’ve never shot at the Wolcott before but I loved it so much!  Great little historical spot to explore and appreciate here in this great town!  I’ve seen McKenna over the last few years for several portrait sessions but I was still […]

Thank you again Sarah!  All the “promises” worked didn’t they! 🙂

Tuesday this week we had a successful day photographing Silly Monkey Boutique’s clothing line on some very precious children.  We started at 9 and ended at 6 and somewhere around 4 a little boy named Jack waited patiently while we finished up photographing a little model.  You see, we have known Jack and his mom for some time now but when Jack popped into the studio last week to say hello he was sooooo shy. He clung to his mom’s leg and was a little timid towards the new studio. So in between last week and this week Jill talked to Jack all about getting his picture taken, and this along with picking some flowers from their backyard to give to JEM helped him so much when it got time to get in front of the studio lights.  Jill mentioned that Jack is also being taught how to be a gentleman and we agree that you can never go wrong with giving hand picked flowers.

Here Jack is giving one, solitary hand picked flower to Jen.  The thought behind it is so beautiful and innocent and Jen’s reaction has ‘thank you Jack’ written all over her face.  After giving Jen her flower he headed over to me and handed me a matching Black-eyed  Susan that I wore in my hair for the rest of the day. Thank you Jill and Jack!
