Its the soft skin, chubby cheeks, curley contagious smile that can just brighten your day on this beautiful and adorable little one.  I saw Abby for the first time the other day and she put an instant smile on my face.  The first few pictures I was shooting above her and waving my hair in her face.  She loved it and thought it was the funniest thing.  My hair IS good for something!  :)   Abby loves her Daddy and all he had to do was call her name and she lights up.  I love seeing those connections.  Abby, you truely did brighten my day.

You can tell a lot about a young man by the way he treats his mother.  Here at JEM we get the nicest senior boys and Noah is no exception.  He was a great subject to photograph and I think he needed the least direction in posing of any boy I have ever photographed.  Seriously  Noah, your a natural.   So last week we started here at the studio and ended up at Clay High School with a couple stops in between.  Noah is obviously a soccer player and has gone to State for hurdles. I have a feeling he will be getting a scholarship.    As we headed to the track it brought back some blurry memories of when I was a ‘hurdler’. I use the noun loosely as my technique and the correct technique never quite matched up.  Seeing Noah swiftly leap over the hurdles only confirmed that I made the right choice and switched sports.  Noah, I know it will be a great senior year for you!

Last week I met Piper for the first time and not only does she have a million dollar smile, but her soft expressions that make her eyes open wide, is so sweet.  We went from one outfit to the next and if Piper’s bow happened to break, there were plenty of backups.  I love the one year age of little ones with the personality that shines through and all the different looks they give depending on what silly noises might be happening behind the camera.  Thank You Dejah for all your help (and energy).  It was so good to meet you!

The above blogpost is titled that way and I don’t even know if it’s true, so Amanda you can correct me.  I wrote that though because when he came to JEM for the first time he was a perfect baby! He slept and ate and slept and continued sleeping soundly. It was really a beautiful thing to be able to capture him in dreamland.  Amanda is now the mother of three beautiful children and I have enjoyed for the past couple years to watch them grow.  I have to give a thank you to Amanda’s sister in law (whom I never met) but works in labor and delivery and knits hats for the little newborns to take home. How cool is that!

I like the saying, ” You are a crazy woman” and I use it quite often to describe the most crazy of situations like, driving 2 miles over the speed limit, watering the plants in less than 1 minute or when Jennifer wants to buy peanuts for the pet squirrel, Scott that takes a walk  outside the building every day at 5 (according to Jen).  But when Michelle called me up just a couple weeks after taking pictures of her three boys and said she had an announcement she wanted to make to her mom and needed some help that involved coming to the studio and cramming in a quick session before I headed out of town, there is only one thing I had to say: Let’s do it you crazy woman.  Three boys piled in and completely cooperated according to their ages and we took a few pictures for an announcement.  Just a few are being posted below (with her permission)  because they are too cute not to share.
