The Ever so Lovable Austin

September 20th, 2010

Please allow me to overemphasize how lovable Austin is.  His mom said he hasn’t met someone he doesn’t like and  he wasn’t the least bit  shy as his personality shined the whole time. I was smitten with him within seconds and I  can imagine if you know this little boy personally you will agree! He [...]

I was smitten with him within seconds and I  can imagine if you know this little boy personally you will agree! He would come right up to me as I was taking his picture and basically want to be held or talked to. When getting his picture taken with his mom and dad he would go from dad’s arms to mom’s and back again.   And so Katelyn and Justin-the center of your world was a delight to get to know and to photograph. Austin is so endearing he could brighten a strangers day.

-Eric = Talented-

You know you’re getting old when the young people in your life grow up and become an adult themselves.  I have known Eric now for 10 years or so.  He lives in Mansfield, Ohio so everytime I see him he gets taller and more grown up.  Last week I made the trip to Mansfield and Eric and I headed to his arts school to use the piano for a few of his portraits.  While I was setting up Eric sat down and immediately started playing Amazing Grace with a southern twist on it and let me tell you it was amazing in every sense of the word.  I was blown away with Eric’s talent.  He moved into more songs from the Phantom of the Opera and even sang for me too.  Not sure if Eric noticed, but when he was playing Amazing Grace I shed just a small tear thinking of my Grandma that just passed away a few days ago and the fact that she loved that song and would have been equally as blown away by the beautiful music this young man could play.  Eric said he’s been playing since the age of 7 and wants to teach someday.  What an awesome young man I am so privilaged to know and photograph!

Thanks so much Eric for being so willing to share your talent with me.  You have such a gift and I am truely amazed by you.  Thank you for my lunch too.  :o

Photo booths are all the rage these days so thought we would do our own fun photo booth inspired montage!

Lovely Laila

September 17th, 2010

Laila is 7 months and I just love this age. She is sitting up and talking on her phone. No, really she puts her hand to her ear as if she is talking.  So many  of my photos show her doing this and it’s funny because I have seen other children around 7 months to [...]

No, really she puts her hand to her ear as if she is talking.  So many  of my photos show her doing this and it’s funny because I have seen other children around 7 months to a year who do the same thing.  This little girl is such a cutie from her dazzling baby blues to her o-so chubby cheeks to her yoga ‘sitting up’ position.  And when Nicole showed me the red tutu I thought I understood that she was an Ohio State fan, but actually it is representing Laila’s Polish Heritage. I thought that was so cool especially since Nicole is 100% Polish.

Sweet little baby Beatrice was so adorable when I photographed her just a year ago.  I posted a newborn pic so you could see how much she has grown.  Bea was a perfect angel for me during her very first shoot and even smiled for me in her sleep.  Nothing has changed since then.  From the second I saw Bea in her stroller at the 577 Foundation this weekend to the time I left her, she was grinning from ear to ear.  She thought everything we did was so fun and exciting.  She was one of our models for Silly Monkey Boutique and did great for us that day also.  She’s a natural!  What a sweetheart!

On a side note, I have to thank my family for one of the props below.  You will see the birthday pictures at the end of this blog with a little banner in the background.  At a big family function we had this weekend, I brought this project with me.  Thanks to everyone that helped with this…. Mariann, Holly, Elaine, Aunt Margie, Aunt Bev and anyone else strolling by the counter on your way to get more food asking what in the world we were making…  I love you family!  Thanks for making Bea’s little JEM party so great!
