{Zachary} On the Move

Zach has enough energy to send a rocket to Mars. After we were done with our photo shoot, I thought to myself, man I need to seriously start exercising regularly. Not only so that I can have more energy like my new friend Zach, but so I can chase two year olds around with my camera and not poo poo out after 15 minutes.  I asked Lisa when Zach started walking because I had a hunch that he started early. Sure enough he started at 10 months! Lisa and I actually went to college together and we majored in early childhood education and I always think it’s funny that even though I don’t teach anymore I love hearing phrases like, ” His fine motor skills are really advanced” as this sends back some good memories.  I also love seeing personalities coming out in young children and Zach has a sound determination-I almost see him accomplishing a lot as he grows up because I see that when he puts his mind to something he goes for it.  We brought out the tricycle for him to climb on and here we are learning how to ride it even though it was only a prop. He continued to go back to that bike and those are some of my favorite pictures…Lisa, it’s been 10 years since those UT days and I am so glad to see you are doing well and a proud mom of a beautiful 2 year old (that resembles you so much!)

Ben makes me {Happy}

November 29th, 2010

Meet this lovable little boy…or remeet him since he was on our blog over the summer (Ben’s curly smile). Ben has that baby soft skin and hair that makes me want to pet his head every time he comes near me.  I have a tendency to pet baby’s heads and find their hair irresistible, of […]

Meet this lovable little boy…or remeet him since he was on our blog over the summer (Ben’s curly smile). Ben has that baby soft skin and hair that makes me want to pet his head every time he comes near me.  I have a tendency to pet baby’s heads and find their hair irresistible, of course Ben is no exception.  We met on one of the last warm days of Fall, I am afraid to say I don’t think we will be getting anymore abnormally warm days. We met right around 4:00 when the sun is doing it’s magical work and casting out the golden hues in these photos below.  Ben played with whatever was in front of him, whether it was a ladder or a twig-it didn’t matter to him.  Eric met up with Heather and Ben towards the middle of our shoot and it was perfect for me to grab a few family pictures. I can’t say it enough: I love capturing the love of family.

{9 Days Young} Luke

November 24th, 2010

What can I say about this beautiful, sleepy newborn? He was just perfect for us and slept like he was still in the womb.  I love this cable-knit hat that Amanda found on the world of Etsy. She said she had to sneak it by her husband because he wasn’t too sure about it in […]

What can I say about this beautiful, sleepy newborn? He was just perfect for us and slept like he was still in the womb.  I love this cable-knit hat that Amanda found on the world of Etsy. She said she had to sneak it by her husband because he wasn’t too sure about it in pictures, but I am sure he would agree that his newborn looks like a model with it on.  Amanda, it was so good to talk to you while doing Luke’s session, I love your humor and laid back personality all rolled into one good mama 🙂

I also wanted to show the birth announcement (front and back) that Amanda chose.  Love it!

{Davis} Weren’t You a Newborn Just Yesterday??

November 24th, 2010

If you have followed our blog in the last year, you might remember this little man.  I met Jill and her mom at McQueen’s Orchard a few weeks ago and as Davis was running around and intent on the task at hand (collecting fresh and rotten apples) I was reminded of how the passage of […]

If you have followed our blog in the last year, you might remember this little man.  I met Jill and her mom at McQueen’s Orchard a few weeks ago and as Davis was running around and intent on the task at hand (collecting fresh and rotten apples) I was reminded of how the passage of change can be marked in so many ways.  In this case, it was marked by my clear memories of this little baby bundled up at our old studio for his newborn session and here he is running around and learning about everything in his  environment. Jill-isn’t it crazy? Makes me appreciate each day given to us to enjoy thoroughly.    Ok, so it’s Thanksgiving soon but I would have said that regardless.

Davis is an active little 18 month old and so what I captured was Davis doing nothing out of the ordinary: being Davis.  I think he wore all three of us adults out and I am pretty sure once the ride home started he was out like a light.

{Evan} Happily Turns One

November 16th, 2010

Evan needs to be on a commercial. No kidding. It doesn’t matter what commercial he would be on because he would help sell whatever product was being pushed. Anything from Mr. Bubbles to Michelin Man tires…I know I would run out and buy some bubbles if I saw his smiley face broadcasting out of my […]

Evan needs to be on a commercial. No kidding. It doesn’t matter what commercial he would be on because he would help sell whatever product was being pushed. Anything from Mr. Bubbles to Michelin Man tires…I know I would run out and buy some bubbles if I saw his smiley face broadcasting out of my 17″ TV. (That’s right, 17 “)

Evan and big brother Brady came into the studio to get Evan’s first birthday pictures done and as Tara said, maybe we can sneak Brady into a few? Well, I couldn’t believe how well Brady did that I snuck him into more than just a few…Brady was getting his pictures while Evan was warming up to an unfamiliar place.  It didn’t take him too long though and he was going from one outfit to the next until he ended up in his diaper for his birthday cake shots.  I love the ones though of Evan in just his blue jeans and the pail…you are so adorable!
