This is yet another awesome shoot I had this past fall.  I’m so excited to post just some of the amazing portraits of the beautiful Elena, pronounced (El-eh-nah). Wow, wow, wow!  This girl blew me away with her beauty.  I had never met Elena before our shoot in Monroe.  She had so many amazing secret places in Monroe for our portraits with outfits to match.  While the actual photo shoot of Elena was amazing, I think the ordering of Elena’s portraits was equally as fun.  Imagine, 7pm in the evening before Christmas at JEM.  For those of you who have been in our studio office or as we call it, our “broom closet” :o, you will know that not many people fit comfortably in here when ordering.  When Elena arrived she also brought her brother, sister, Grandma and Dad.  We all squeezed in the “broom closet”, ate cake balls, talked music and took on the task of picking out what would be printed from all these beautiful portraits that Elena produces.  It was quite comical but so fun at the same time.

Haha!  Thanks family for a great evening together.  I told you the cake balls were to die for!!

Elena – You are truly beautiful on the inside and out.  Thank you for allowing me to photograph you and being so open to all my ideas.  Good luck this year and your plans for next school year.

Hello JEM blog world!  We are so sorry to all of our dedicated blog stalkers that our blogs have been so far and few between.  It’s been a very busy few months here at JEM.  We thank everyone for such a great holiday and wedding season.  We are REALLY behind on blogs so we are just going to pick up where we left off.  I wanted to start with a shoot I did back in October.  Yes, you read that right, October!  It was the most perfect fall afternoon with some of my favorite JEM girls. For those of you that know me, I’m a sucker for a cute jean jacket and these girls immediately won me over with their oh-so-cute jean jackets.  Why do I love jean jackets you ask?  Not sure.  Probably because it reminds me of everything awesome about the 80’s, Bryan Adams playing on my tape player and country fields…anyway, these girls sported the jean jackets just perfect for these pics.  Love it!

I also need to give a big shout out to Lynn from Pollynn Flowers.  She made the ADoRabLE flower crowns the girls are wearing at the end of this blog.  If you are in need of flowers for a party, wedding or someone special, Pollynn is the place to go.  Lynn is amazingly talented and creative in all things flowers!  Thanks Lynn and Pollynn for supplying the super cute crowns! {www.pollynn.com}

Trina & Scott {Lovely Winter Wedding}

January 18th, 2011

I truly love all seasons that we have and there is something about a winter wedding-the deep reds that Trina and Scott chose, the cold day but the warmth of being inside and the lights of the season, that make you feel really good to be part of this special day. Trina and Scott were […]

I truly love all seasons that we have and there is something about a winter wedding-the deep reds that Trina and Scott chose, the cold day but the warmth of being inside and the lights of the season, that make you feel really good to be part of this special day. Trina and Scott were married at the Hilton Garden Inn and it seemed to be the perfect location for a winter wedding.  As you look through these pictures and you get to the lights outside you might wonder if it was ridiculously cold out? It was the coldest weather I think I have ever photographed in! But who cares about the photographer…all those pretty girls in dresses!  I wanted to make sure that I wrote about the take home gifts which were a deck of cards. I thought Scott just enjoyed poker as well, you know, a hobby but I just found out he is a professional poker player!  Well, here is to Trina and Scott who have waited so patiently for their sneak peek…

{Ashly & Brian} Love in December

January 18th, 2011

You might remember these two beautiful people from an earlier blog post in the gorgeous fields of Hidden Lake Gardens. It was part-two of Ashly and Brian’s engagement photo shoot on this blustery winter day in December. I couldn’t help but put a slideshow together of these snowy pictures and use a song that I […]

You might remember these two beautiful people from an earlier blog post in the gorgeous fields of Hidden Lake Gardens. It was part-two of Ashly and Brian’s engagement photo shoot on this blustery winter day in December. I couldn’t help but put a slideshow together of these snowy pictures and use a song that I think fits so well. I mean these two just make you want to say…AAWWWWW… don’t they??

Can’t wait for the wedding you guys!

Dave & Jenny {Married 11.27.2010}

January 14th, 2011

O sweet, sweet Jenny and Dave.  All smiles- all day, and that is what seems to be the theme in all these pictures. Jen’s laughter was heard throughout this  winter Saturday and the more I photographed her the more I thought she resembled Katherine Heigl…Jen you are such a pretty woman (Dave, your not too […]

O sweet, sweet Jenny and Dave.  All smiles- all day, and that is what seems to be the theme in all these pictures. Jen’s laughter was heard throughout this  winter Saturday and the more I photographed her the more I thought she resembled Katherine Heigl…Jen you are such a pretty woman (Dave, your not too shabby yourself 🙂 )

Jen and Dave got married in a tiny church in Monroe, MI late in the afternoon and even though it was freezing cold outside they both didn’t mind taking 5 minutes before night had officially fallen to get a few outdoor pictures.  To me, you wouldn’t even be able to tell that it was 9 degrees outside.  Afterwards,  everyone headed south to Dusseau’s Reception Hall where the celebration was official.  During the anniversary dance I don’t  think there was a dry eye as Dave’s grandparents danced so tenderly to Alan Jackson’s, Remember When. This has to be one of my favorite slow songs and as Jenny and Dave were looking on I couldn’t help to think how fast time will go for us all. I will close with one of my favorite quotes that is my hope and prayer  for the new bride and groom, that you can share your life together and ” Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: thus is your time on earth filled with glory.” Blessings to you both and your new life together…
