March 31st, 2011

OK all you JEM blog fans who have been deprived of posts, our number one stalker (you know who you are), Megan Swartz/Heidi Steinker and all you other followers who say our blogs brighten your day… it’s time for the ultimate and monumental, longest JEM blog ever!!!!  Yes, I know you are trying to control […]

OK all you JEM blog fans who have been deprived of posts, our number one stalker (you know who you are), Megan Swartz/Heidi Steinker and all you other followers who say our blogs brighten your day… it’s time for the ultimate and monumental, longest JEM blog ever!!!!  Yes, I know you are trying to control your excitement!

Before our fresh season begins, I can’t leave ALL of the shoots behind from my rewind 2010 blogs.  My intentions were to post individual blogs for each and every one of these shoots as there is a story and a smile and probably a laugh or two from all.   As a wise person once told me, intentions are just that, intentions.   So without further ado, this is one of the best feelings I have had in a long time, to be able to post highlights from so many awesome JEM shoots.

Where have we been???

March 30th, 2011

Where HAVE we been?  Italy? Ireland? Nope.  Southern France? Close, but more like Southern Ohio.  LOL.  Every year we take a trip to unwind, refill, recharge, rethink, replan… re-EVERYTHING!  Em packed her duffle bag, Jen her obnoxiously large and heavy, in case of an emergency SUITCASE with five extra coats…just in case.  Planned departure time, […]

Planned departure time, 7:30am.  Actual departure, 1:00pm.  You catch our drift?  So anyway, once we actually got on the road, it was destination unknown and Project 517.  What is Project 517?  We aren’t exactly sure but we had to come up with a name for reference purposes.

Project 517 highlights (in no particular order):

While shopping was supposed to be strictly JEM related, stumbled upon Old Navy’s clearance of all clearance events, ADDITIONAL 50% off (Jackpot!)

Driving through various treacherous snow storms

Kickin it at all the finest hotels and Hiltons.  Not really.  Red Roofing it!!!!!

JEM photoshoot of none other than ourselves (sample below)

Panera, Panera, oh yeah and Panera with serious deep JEM planning over 5 cups of coffee and snapping pictures for distraction (samples below)

Finding, rummaging and STUFFING the jeep with all our new JEM “treasures” that we can’t wait to use soon

For a full run-down of all the stories we aren’t able to mention on the blog feel free to ask personally.  🙂 Sometimes the best way for us to get inspiration is to pack up and head out for a few days.  It’s amazing what happens when we are on the road and we throw out ideas back and forth.  We wanted to share just a glimpse of where we have been.

Aviators.  A GPS?  Whah?

We said it first, we’re dorks.  It’s true.  Continue on…

Doing a little work, emphasis on a little.

Did we seriously eat all those donuts? Ahhhhmmmm.

We often joked if someone were to break into our car and steal all of our “treasures” what the perpetrator would say.  Honestly, we still laugh over this.  I mean, come on, various broken and rusty, crates, cribs, baskets, scales and other notorious JEM props…

PHOTOSHOOT!

Project 517 complete.

{Chloe} Birthday Girl

We mean that.  We WILL be blogging more in  the future.   We have had so many great photo sessions lately and want to share with all of you the highlights of each one.  But […]

Chloe has so much personality and she showed it off for the camera. Look at all her different faces! Those BIG brown eyes are so gorgeous and expressive. I love when the two bottom teeth on a baby start coming in, I think this is so cute and of course, with the teeth comes the inevitable drool. Chloe had the teeth and the drool. The last pictures are of Chloe and her VERY proud big brother, Cameron.

{Lovely Lily}

March 8th, 2011

O, this photo shoot was taken two months ago in the beginning of January. Hard to believe that it is now March. March! At the beginning of each month, it never fails, we always shake our heads in astonishment and say we ‘can’t believe it’s ______ already!’ So here I am looking at Lily’s photo shoot […]

O, this photo shoot was taken two months ago in the beginning of January. Hard to believe that it is now March. March! At the beginning of each month, it never fails, we always shake our heads in astonishment and say we ‘can’t believe it’s ______ already!’ So here I am looking at Lily’s photo shoot from January and I remember how much of a trooper this girl is. No complaints about freezing hands, cold noses or sitting on an old, freezing-cold, train. Infact, I think I was the one saying OK. I can do this as I forgot my gloves and I couldn’t feel my finger to even press the shutter.  I absolutely loved this photo shoot though and it was for Lily’s 11th birthday. This girl is equally as sweet inside as outside. She is breathtakingly beautiful and has such soft spirit. We were only outside for a few minutes and headed to the studio for a few portraits and the last two pictures are of Lily and her mom. The resemblance is unmistakable.  Well blog friends, I had to post this before the weather turned to spring 🙂

{Laila} Party Time

March 7th, 2011

You might recognize this cutie from the previous year’s blog.  Those cheeks and big blue eyes aren’t easy to forget. Something we offer here at JEM is to photograph birthday parties and then design a birthday book as a keepsake. I thought I would show you the book that was designed for little Laila. You might recognize this cutie from the previous year’s blog.  Those cheeks and big blue eyes aren’t easy to forget. Something we offer here at JEM is to photograph birthday parties and then design a birthday book as a keepsake. I thought I would show you the book that was designed for little Laila. Her birthday party was celebrated in downtown Toledo at Pizza Papalis and was such a nice place to celebrate. I hadn’t seen her since Christmas and I loved seeing her walking all around. She was passed around from realitives to friends and everyone got their time with her. The birthday  cake went over really well and a sugar coma followed. My favorites though of Laila are of her and her pink balloon. So cute!
