{JEM-ball or Softball} Just Makes us Stonger

June 3rd, 2011

Well it was the battle of the undefeated vs. the undefeated OR the battle between JEM Photography and Frickers.  Yeah, the Frickers team walked up in their professional looking striped baseball pants and put a hurtin on JEM the first inning, but we held our own for the rest of the game.  Even though I [...]

Well it was the battle of the undefeated vs. the undefeated OR the battle between JEM Photography and Frickers.  Yeah, the Frickers team walked up in their professional looking striped baseball pants and put a hurtin on JEM the first inning, but we held our own for the rest of the game.  Even though I don’t want to use the word mercy :( I guess I must, you will all find out eventually.  Yes, that’s right, we got mercied.  I know, hard to believe as we are sweet at the game of coed softball, but we had an off week.  We WILL come back next week for revenge.

Even though we did lose we wanted to blog and try and bring back a little JEM spirit for next week.  Sidenote – we heard through the grapevine that one of our opponents might play the theme song fron Jem and the Holograms… all we have to say is, BRING IT!

A little pre-game cookout to prepare for the game. :)

Pudge was awarded the coveted JEM-VP award.  Awesome job out there.

What’s that spell???? JEM!  GOOOOOO JEM!!!!!!!

Why is JEM the best??  Cuz we look sweet!

Kristen (our official JEM score keeper) and Coach hard at work.  Happy Birthday to Kristen by the way!!

Excuse me?  Where is your cute JEM shirt?

A few more reasons why we’re sweet?  Cuz we wear cute bees on our hat…

We drink out of fancy water bottles…

Red shoes…need I say more…

cute t-shirt ties, bandanas and frenchbraids…

Yeah and we might goof off on the field once in a while too…

Umm, are those Jen’s favorite dorky mens sunglasses??  If they say Kenneth Cole, yes they are.  You may borrow cuz I know they make you feel so cool.  Or you can borrow because you can’t find yours. :)

Cheerleader, sponsors and player

Lookin good JEM team!

After a week with JEM, Elizabeth completed her senior project, we hugged it out and held back tears.  What an amazing week with an amazing young woman.  Elizabeth is now an official member of JEM.  She accompanied me on a wedding, learned to photograph with an SLR camera, assisted with shoots and learned the ins and outs of our small business among many other lessons.   The first image here is my absolute favorite.   I loved photographing Elizabeth and what fun we had editing her images together.  I’ve posted lots for you to see.  The images that are not Elizabeth are all hers.  So very proud of her work!

Elizabeth will be a true buckeye soon as she plans to attend THE Ohio State University in the fall.  Good luck to you!

Thank you Elizabeth for spending your time with us.  We loved having you!  Keep shooting.

Love this pic of Elizabeth shooting below.  Have to thank my family up on Samaria Road for letting me use the property and horses for our backdrops.  Love you guys!

Loved how Elizabeth framed the images below.  Great editing too.

Elizabeth also took this picture of me.  So proud of her!!!  I was teaching her the “JEM way” of shooting through things.

Just a quick update before our wedding weekend! Last night Team JEM stepped onto the field with no record at all and we left Rolf Field with 2 wins!!  We finished our game from last week and pulled off a win for our regular game.  Our JEM-VP this week goes out to the most talented, Jen (no, not that Jen ;) ) but another Jen who seriously made like 5 home-runs and 27 RBI’s !!  You go girl!  We love our team so much and we can’t get over how awesome we work together…just a snapshot of the team and of course our JEM-VP.  Come join us next week at Rolf Field and see for yourself that we are sweet.

First and foremost, we need to recognize one of our players that came to the field ready to play and give it her all, but was unexpectedly injured as she slid into third.  Courtney, we were all looking forward to getting to know you and having a great season together.  We are all thinking of you and this season we are keeping your cleat in honor of you.  Praying for a quick recovery!

So with that said, Courtney was injured in the third inning and by the time the ambulance came and left, the game had to be suspended in the sixth at a current score of 15 – 3!   We normally would not toot our own horn but WE ROCK, WE’RE AWESOME, BOO-YA!!!  No really, we have an amazing team who works crazy good together in their appointed positions.  Watch out “JEM-e-mies” (in other languages that means opponents)!!

The JEM VP (or MVP) goes to Kevin who hit a homerun.  We are so excited for next Thursday!  See you on the field!

Our fearless leader…or our Coach!

Yeah, that’s right, it’s a JEM foam finger.  Boo-YA!!!
