Kenzie, her mommy and I met at Schedel Gardens in Elmore the other day to capture some 4 year portraits. This was my first time shooting at Schedel Gardens although I’ve always heard great things about it. If you’ve never been there I would suggest going. Grab yourself a special someone, walk around the grounds, sip something hot or cold, sit under the willow tree (the JEM girls love willow trees) and enjoy an hour or two at this place. It’s beautiful! A wedding would be gorgeous there for anyone trying to think of a different place. Kenzie loved getting her picture taken and what a perfect little subject to photograph at such a beautiful place. As we were walking back to the car at the end of our shoot, Kenzie looks up at me with these pretty green eyes and said she had a surprise for me. It was adorable. So she gets in the car and starts searching around. I quickly figured out that there was no surprise, but she was really trying to find something. Her mom suggested she give me silly band. Which by the way I have yet to receive one of those. I heard there’s one that spells the word love. That would be cool. Anyway, after digging around in the car for the perfect surprise for Jen, Kenzie pulls out pizza coupons for me! Ha! It was so funny! Anyway, great day, great place and great little subject.
Thank you Patty and Kenzie!!!

Last week was the week for newborn baby boys! Little Gavin came to the studio and slept till the near end of our photo session. The first thing I said when I saw him was, look at those lips! They are so distinct and pretty (if I can say that about a baby boy’s lips) He rested ever so comfortably in an old pail and never once did he object to this idea
Either did mom or dad! Jennifer and Michael, I love the pictures of you two holding baby Gavin- you both have so much warmth and pride showing on your faces. Thank you so much for trusting JEM with Gavin’s first portrait!

So much I could say about this family…Justin and Tiffany you are both such awesome parents. I love how you both compliment each other as husband and wife. Ella is a true gem and it’s obvious she loves her baby brother so much from all the kisses she wants to give him. Tiff-little Luke didn’t want to fall asleep at the end, but it doesn’t matter in the final picture. I just love how Ella has this look of “this is my baby brother and I will always protect him” It’s always great to see you, I literally could have kept on photographing for the rest of the day.

There is just so much I could say about this little one and her parents. First of all, Mylee’s mommy and I go way back…. WAY back. Right Susie?!I love the fact that I’ve done your wedding and have had the pleasure of watching your immediate and extended family grow. Mylee is now 6 months (JEM’s most favorite age to shoot). If you follow the blog you might remember Mylee’s newborn portraits with her daddy and the cowboy hat. Of course we had to use the cowboy hat again for this shoot. I love the mood this hat brings with it. So not typical of Toledo area but still very cool in a Tim McGrawish kind of way! Right Jeremy?
Jeremy and Susie – Thank you once again for allowing me to photograph your little one. Love catching up and laughing together. Susie, we are seriously considering using your sign idea for gawkers when we shoot.

The Wolcott House was our backdrop the other day for McKenna’s 2 year portraits. Can’t believe I’ve never shot at the Wolcott before but I loved it so much! Great little historical spot to explore and appreciate here in this great town! I’ve seen McKenna over the last few years for several portrait sessions but I was still amazed at how big she was when I saw her this time. She gets more and more beautiful every time I see her. Her hair is so lovely with the soft curls. Loved the bow/flower in her hair. Girl after my own heart.
Thank you again Sarah! All the “promises” worked didn’t they!
