{Playing in Nana’s Backyard}

May 3rd, 2012

Nana’s backyard is so peaceful and quiet and lovely.  It’s plopped along a country road and if you didn’t know where you were, you would think you were in the U.P. The only hard part about shooting here was that Logan, who just turned four, wanted to go fishing the whole time. What do you [...]

The only hard part about shooting here was that Logan, who just turned four, wanted to go fishing the whole time. What do you mean, you don’t want to hang out on this really cool ladder in the middle of the grass?? You would rather choose  fishing over haning out with your brother in a wagon?? What?  :)  This was a gorgeous evening to hang out and take pictures. Cooper kept us busy and on our toes. He is fast!  I wanted to post just a few of my favorites. Thank you Crystal and Kris!

{Laila} You so Sweet

April 19th, 2012

I’ve been photographing Laila since she was a newborn and I have gotten to know this little lady and her sweet disposition. Laila, you will grow into a strong, determined young girl one day. You say, ‘no thanks’ to flower wreathe headbands, but you say ‘Yes’ to sticks and dirt. This pretty flower headband by Jen [...]

This pretty flower headband by Jen at Beautiful Blooms by Jen lasted long enough for the two pictures below.   You are a true two year old, discovering your environment by interacting alongside it.  You also wear me out :)   I needed to take a nap after taking your pictures. We actually ‘pretended’ to nap to coerce Laila to come and get her picture taken, as if that would work? It was a little reverse psychology that left us all ‘sleeping’  and Laila saying, ‘ha, ha, adults, I know this trick.’  But, for one tiny moment, Laila came and laid down next to her mommy :) Here are a few pictures from this day and if you don’t know this precious girl, hopefully you can get a glimpse from these few pictures.

{Sloane} Birthday Girl!

April 18th, 2012

You gotta love you some Sloane! She makes anyone’s day happier…probably because she is so happy herself.  Many of you know the story of Sarah and Tim and if not you can find it under,  Sloane’s newborn pictures.  So, they were in town for her first birthday and  I was able to meet up at  [...]

She makes anyone’s day happier…probably because she is so happy herself.  Many of you know the story of Sarah and Tim and if not you can find it under,  Sloane’s newborn pictures.  So, they were in town for her first birthday and  I was able to meet up at  Botanical Gardens on a beautiful Spring evening to capture Sloane being herself. We had an entourage of Aunties there with us and if you saw us you would have thought it was pretty ridiculous.  Aunt Erica and Melissa carried around outfits, a stroller and balloons that announced we were going  ‘overboard’.  But, it’s fun to go overboard.  At the end we finally got around to giving Sloane her balloon. It lasted 5.2 nanoseconds and before I could say anything it floated away. I love you Sloaney!

{Baby Elliette}

April 17th, 2012

Baby Ellie is a little squirmer…when you think she has gotten to that deep sleep zone, she does a quick leg kick to let you know that she’s not ready . So, we wait. Then, we think she’s ’there’ but then an arm darts out from it’s neatly tucked warm spot. So again, we wait . As we [...]

Then, we think she’s ’there’ but then an arm darts out from it’s neatly tucked warm spot. So again, we wait . As we waited for Ellie to sleep, big sister decided to decorate herself with nearly every single flower we own and of course we thought this to be picture worthy  :)  Between this all, Elliette  allowed me a few simple pictures that I think are perfect. But first, big sister Addy needs to make a fashion statment:
