Sweet Hillary Turns One…

  • July 30, 2010 3:46 pm

You might recognize this little girl and all her soft looks that accompany her  sweet face.  My words are few this time with this little girl only because she doesn’t really need many. I think her photograph speaks better than me.

Kaden and Karson

  • July 26, 2010 7:29 pm

My old friend called me up for her two boys’ pictures and to say the least, I was elated.  I hadn’t met the youngest before and when seeing him,  I see Ambria’s smile.  If you know Ambrea, I know you can see this too…

As much as these two brothers look alike, they have completely different personalities.  I think I started sweating before I even began photographing little Carson.  Just watching him run around makes me break a sweat. Aside from being ADORABLE, he is every bit of active.  Then there is handsome Caden. He will politely take direction and  he could probably be entertained for hours with a mini firetruck.

Thank you Ambrea for coming to the new studio!! It was great to see you!!

Amanda, Did you Have the Baby?

  • July 23, 2010 8:38 pm

Whew, this blog story could be really long…because it all started last week when Amanda asked if there were any openings soon because to be honest she didn’t know how much longer she would be pregnant for.  Well it was meant to be since I had just gotten a reschedule for that weekend! This baby boy or baby girl could be coming any day now.  In fact as I type this she could be at the hospital!  I will leave out details of me arriving way early, panicking, running to the library (we were meeting at the library) to check my email (which everyone and their brother must use the computers at the library since it was a 20 minute wait) breaking out in a cold sweat, and finally realizing all I need to do is pray that Amanda will call me (yes, the number had been left at the studio in the midst of my frazzled day) Well as soon as I lifted up my prayer, guess what?!  She called me and within minutes I was meeting her at the correct library at the correct time!

Nadeau family- you all are so gracious and wonderful.  Amanda, you are breathtaking.  I loved spending time with you guys and playing around with Sophie and Max.  I am so excited to see what baby #3 will be!

Got Triplets?

  • July 22, 2010 9:06 pm

This session had been scheduled for weeks and I had been looking forward to my first ever triplet girls photo shoot! Each little girl has her own personality and I loved capturing them as individuals and then together as sisters.  I think every time I turned around either Amanda or  Seth  were whipping out 3 beach balls, 3 blankets, 3 cups, well…you get it.  Seth entertained us with his fabulous kite flying skills and their friend Stephanie was a big help as being a walking ‘pack mule.’  To sum up the beauty of these three little ones: precious. Absolutely precious.  Some of my favorites are of them simply being themselves….little Abigail wanting her daddy or Lauren taking a break on her blanket, and sweet Samantha just checking me out.

Lauren, Samantha, and Abigail willingly taking  a break before moving on to the bench…

-Vera Elizabeth-

Vera and I played on our new wood floor yesterday for a just a bit to get some portraits for her body parts collage.  So fun to roll around with a one year old and feel like a kid again.   Thanks Deidra for hanging out and chattin it up with me!

I’m so excited about this last picture.  As soon as my camera clicked and this picture came up of Vera I immediately thought of the picture I had taken some time ago of her older brother Simon.  I was so excited to find it and compare.  I love seeing family resemblances and WOW what a resemblance!!

-Olivia Addison-

  • July 22, 2010 2:44 pm

Meet Olivia.  She is the daughter of my roommate from college and longtime friend.  They came to JEM yesterday for Olivia’s 3 year portraits.  We rolled around on the floor in the studio for a while and then walked around the surroundings of JEM Photography’s new building.  What fun to see my old roomie with her own little roomie!

Holly – I love when I get to see  you guys again and it’s so amazing to see your little one run around.  She is sooooo beautiful.  What a great mixture of you both.

Nick – Thanks for tickle monster!  Hey, guess what song came over my ipod the other day?  Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins!  Remember that being played on repeat over and over and over all weekend long!  Those were the days, right?

Olivia was playing hide-and-seek outside of our studio.  She really thought she was hidden behind those few blades of grass :o So cute!

Baby Nolan

  • July 21, 2010 3:47 pm

Nolan is 9 months and a cutie. He is also teething.  In fact, this photo session was for, Teething Bling ( www.smartmomjewelry.com)  where Nolan was so stinking adorable that he was awarded for his cuteness by this company!  So the jewelry you see around mom’s neck  works two ways, and little Nolan started to get his teeth in this week so it was perfect for this shoot. We still were able to get some smiles out of him though with the help of playing in the dirt.   Awwww Nolan, you are such a little man in your blue jeans! I love it!

Gorgeous Little Girl, Audrey

  • July 20, 2010 7:56 pm

I have known Tiffany since high school and it is so cool to be able to photograph her two children.  And, I get to see you at Jodi’s wedding this weekend!  This was Audrey’s first year pictures, but Jackson helped out quite a bit as being big brother.   Actually, Jackson ‘helped’ me out by sweeping the floor before cake pics ( I hope this doesn’t concern anyone that I use these little people to help me clean,  carry things, and hold professional gear).  Anyways, Audrey’s BIG green eyes are a photographers delight and I loved capturing her running around, climbing and being very dainty with her cake…

You Gotta Love these Boys

  • July 20, 2010 1:30 pm

Michelle called me up and said that Owen was practicing his smile for me during dinner. Should I shmile for Emery like dis? Or like dis? I just wanted to hug him through the phone.  So when we had our photo-shoot at Maumee Bay last week it was no surprise how well these boys did.  All three of them make me laugh and I can hear Isaiah nearly cackling in these pictures.  When we took  ‘2′ and whipped out the wagon and my reflector Owen and Isaiah were so excited to help me out with the professional gear.  Then again when we took ‘3′ , they were so excited to help carry all the props to the path for birthday cake shots.  It was really nice to have little hands helping me out and for this: Michelle and Brad you must be great parents…thanks for the ice cream treat afterward. It was thoroughly enjoyed.

-Longest Shoot EVER-

  • July 20, 2010 2:31 am

This was seriously the longest shoot in recorded history…ever in all the shoots out there.   I’m not kidding when I say this shoot spanned between 2 days with so many activities along the way.  It all came down to… when will this child sleep!

I arrived at the Woodbury house the other day to photograph new baby Brycen and his big brother Landon.  Of course Landon is my little buddy and I have photographed him since he was born.  He had his Mud Hens hat on and the only way I can describe him is he makes my heart smile.  He is such a cool little JEM kid and I love it when I get to see him.  In the pictures below he was just talking to me about Muddy and the game.  I love when kids tell stories because they have so many expressions and movements.  Makes me laugh.

Anyway, while I was waiting for Brycen to fall asleep I played and snapped away with Landon.  After a couple hours of waiting for sleep we gave up and surrendered.  We decided I would come back the next day.  Skip forward to my arrival the next morning.  Still no sleeping baby.  A couple hour shoot turned into an entire day of waiting for those little eyes to close.  I drove around in the mini van with the fam, we stopped at the park (2 parks actually), drank coffee together (twice), ate lunch at Max and Erma’s… child still not sleeping by the way, we went to the studio, tried stroller rides, we all took turns holding him, feeding him, swinging him.  Nothing!  ALL DAY LONG!  Now I have to clarify that Brycen wasn’t crying.  Actually I never heard him cry all day.  He was perfectly content teasing us with his no sleep joke.  I would take breaks and worked in between the wait times, but soon 10am turned into 4pm!  Oh the things I will do for a sleeping baby.  Finally, when we were all ready to give up, Brycen slept and I got my sleeping baby pics.   FINALLY!

Krista and Ron – Thank you for lunch and ALL the laughs!  What a great day together!  Literally a great day, ALL DAY LONG!!! :o   Congrats on your new little one.  Love that I have gotten to witness and photograph your wedding and all these milestones.  Thanks guys!

Baby still not sleeping.

Even Gus was wondering when the babe would sleep! :o   This is the coolest dog ever by the way.  He can get drinks out of the fridge and bring them to you.  It’s awesome!

So peaceful.  The much anticipated sleeping pictures.  Well worth it!
