{Mercedes and Thomas} Engagements in His Hometown

How was I lucky enough to photograph these two in Chicago? Well, even though they will be getting married in Toledo this November, they wanted to have their engagements taken where they met, and also where Thomas is from. I can’t say enough positive things about this couple. I have known Mercedes since we shared 7th grade Science together, but it was the first time I had met Thomas, and once we finished up the rainy afternoon in Chicago, it was easy to see how well they compliment eachother. Thomas pulled off the GQ look so well, but could make Mercedes laugh so easily anytime he needed to…and Mercedes, you are not only smart, you are gorgeous. I loved spending time with you both and talking between shooting. I’m already looking forward to November!

{Shacara and Marcus} Surprise Photo Shoot

Marcus is one sweet guy. He called us up and said he had this really great idea for his wife…he wanted to surprise her with a photo shoot for their one year anniversary. Ummmm…YES. This is a fabulous idea Marcus! The best thing was he didn’t call one week in advance. He called 2 months beforehand. Shacara has been wanting pictures of the two of them for eight years now, and all she was getting at these requests were goofy faces in every family photo. Marcus told me, that he absolutely hated getting his picture taken, but he knew his wife would love it. She didn’t expect to meet me at Sidecut on a Friday evening, she thought she was going for a picnic Surprise. The best thing was that their were arrangements for her best friend to drive in from Cleveland to pamper her and help her choose an outfit before the ‘picnic’. Everything that was put into this special shoot was so thoughtful, and Shacara, you radiate beauty in every single picture. Your happiness melts off of these, and Marcus’ affection for you is so clear. I’m so glad that I met you both!

{Lisa and Tyler} O so lova-ly

I’m excited to post this engagement session from last week. Tyler and Lisa have this soft, amazing chemistry that I was able to capture in the back of Erie Apple Orchard on a Spring evening where the light danced in and out between fluffy clouds. We kept saying how we felt like our session was like a dream and Lisa even said she felt like this had happened before in her ‘dreamland.’ I’m a crazy dreamer, so I had to add that Lisa Now, let’s just say that Tyler looks at Lisa with the most endearing looks and those of you who know Lisa, can hear her soft voice in some of these pictures. It’s been brought to our attention that when we edit pictures, that we mimic the looks going on in the picture we are editing. How true this is! Ha! I’m glad that I don’t have facetime recording any of this.

Lisa and Tyler-you guys are awesome together. Enough said.

{Well, Hello!} Eddie & Amy + Leo too

Meet Leo, the cutest golden-doodle I have ever met. He almost doesn’t seem real, he is so perfectly adorable. Eddie and Amy agree that he is so wonderful that they wanted pictures to document him as a puppy because we all know that they grow up so quick. So, we played around their new apartment, fed him treats, took him outside for a walk, and finally by the time we got to the clock tower at The Hilton, he was exhausted. He sat quite perfectly still for his portrait I loved during this shoot how Eddie continuously kept gazing at Amy and saying how pretty she was. Sweet Amy would smile softly and I have so many pictures of this: Eddie admiring his soon to be bride and Amy smiling her pretty smile. You guys are so very wonderful together and I wish you the best always…

This very adorable couple will be getting married very soon. So in honor of their big day I wanted to post a blog from their engagement session. This is an oldie but a goodie!

We aren’t kidding when we say that we are hundreds of blogs behind. We plan to revisit and showcase some of our previous sessions to inspire, to give ideas and to put a smile on your face.
