Amanda, Did you Have the Baby?

  • July 23, 2010 8:38 pm

Whew, this blog story could be really long…because it all started last week when Amanda asked if there were any openings soon because to be honest she didn’t know how much longer she would be pregnant for.  Well it was meant to be since I had just gotten a reschedule for that weekend! This baby boy or baby girl could be coming any day now.  In fact as I type this she could be at the hospital!  I will leave out details of me arriving way early, panicking, running to the library (we were meeting at the library) to check my email (which everyone and their brother must use the computers at the library since it was a 20 minute wait) breaking out in a cold sweat, and finally realizing all I need to do is pray that Amanda will call me (yes, the number had been left at the studio in the midst of my frazzled day) Well as soon as I lifted up my prayer, guess what?!  She called me and within minutes I was meeting her at the correct library at the correct time!

Nadeau family- you all are so gracious and wonderful.  Amanda, you are breathtaking.  I loved spending time with you guys and playing around with Sophie and Max.  I am so excited to see what baby #3 will be!

Got Triplets?

  • July 22, 2010 9:06 pm

This session had been scheduled for weeks and I had been looking forward to my first ever triplet girls photo shoot! Each little girl has her own personality and I loved capturing them as individuals and then together as sisters.  I think every time I turned around either Amanda or  Seth  were whipping out 3 beach balls, 3 blankets, 3 cups, well…you get it.  Seth entertained us with his fabulous kite flying skills and their friend Stephanie was a big help as being a walking ‘pack mule.’  To sum up the beauty of these three little ones: precious. Absolutely precious.  Some of my favorites are of them simply being themselves….little Abigail wanting her daddy or Lauren taking a break on her blanket, and sweet Samantha just checking me out.

Lauren, Samantha, and Abigail willingly taking  a break before moving on to the bench…

-Our Greatest Treasures-

As this world spins madly on, I have come to learn that the only thing that really matters in life is love.  Love for your family, friends and those so special and close to you.  As I stand behind my camera at these family shoots and observe this one important thing, I appreciate what I do more and more.  Although I have never met anyone in this family, the smiles, warmth and joy of being together was so apparent on their faces.  I just love documenting the togetherness that doesn’t happen very often for great families like this one.

Thanks family for a great early morning shoot!  It was so nice to meet all of you.

Baby Nolan

  • July 21, 2010 3:47 pm

Nolan is 9 months and a cutie. He is also teething.  In fact, this photo session was for, Teething Bling ( www.smartmomjewelry.com)  where Nolan was so stinking adorable that he was awarded for his cuteness by this company!  So the jewelry you see around mom’s neck  works two ways, and little Nolan started to get his teeth in this week so it was perfect for this shoot. We still were able to get some smiles out of him though with the help of playing in the dirt.   Awwww Nolan, you are such a little man in your blue jeans! I love it!

-Sylvia, 18 months-

Sometimes I just can’t believe my eyes when I see my littlest of clients at their shoots.  They get so big so quick.  Seems like I was just at Sylvia’s house shooting her newborn portraits.  Now she wears the coolest stack jelly shoes (a picture is posted at the end) and talks so much.  If you follow the blog you will recognize this little one.

Steff and Brad – as always its so great to see you guys.  Hope lake time treated you good! :o

A Beautiful Little Girl, Sophia

  • July 13, 2010 3:02 pm

Here are the things that make me have a a great morning: an innocent child exploring paired with loving parents and my camera. I love how young children find amazement in the smallest of things, especially in nature.  Little  Sophia loves twigs, leaves, walnuts that have freshly fallen, playing ‘chase-chase’ with her mommy and daddy and of course a friendly dog that passes by.  While Sophia was taking a ‘break’ I was able to snap some pictures of her new baby sister, Evelyn.  Aren’t these girls breathtaking?  And because I love side-notes, here is one: Sophia doesn’t ever prefer to look at the camera so Steff informed me that if I try pretend crying she might look up at me…I pretended to bawl my eyes out for a good two minutes before  I got one super quick look probably just to make sure I was truly ‘faking it’.  I posted it at the end :)

-Smith Family-

Pacesetter Park was the backdrop for our shoot the other morning.   We had an 8am schedule time (yikes) but everyone was bright eyed and ready for photos.  The sun was beautiful coming through the trees and I couldn’t believe it was July and we all had goosebumps.   Chase, the littlest of the Smith Family, just looked at my camera and smiled at me the whole time.  This never happens by the way!!  Thanks so much family!  It’s always so great to see all of you.

To the twins – Enjoy your senior year you guys!  Amy and Dan -  I love seeing your kids get so big.  Thanks again!

-Hillard Kids-

  • July 1, 2010 11:44 pm

Time again for the annual Hillard kids photo shoot.  To start we had some fun with bubble gum in the studio for just a few shots and then headed out to Botanical Gardens for more.  If I had time I could pull out baby pictures for each one of these kids from my archives!  I have photographed each from the time they were born.  Amazing how different each one is although they have one thing in common…stunning blue eyes!!

Thank you Mariann!  Mike and Ikes did the trick didn’t they?  Good call!  :o

-Ella & Gage-

  • June 29, 2010 10:54 pm

Meet sweet and lovely Ella.  She has graced the walls, business cards and blog of JEM quite often.  I was able to go out to Ella’s house for some portraits to celebrate her turning 4 years old the other day.  We also got some shots of Ella’s cousin Gage.  What a cutie!  Of course next to the house was a beautiful field that we played in.  It was such a gorgeous day out.  Can’t you just feel the wind blowing in some of these pictures?

Jamie – Thanks again!  Loved the tour of your new house or rather Ella’s version of a tour.  :o   Congrats again on your new digs!

I just had to post this picture.  I think it’s so funny when kids pout!

We all Need a Little Grace

  • June 25, 2010 9:55 pm

I have always had this name association ‘problem’ where when I first meet someone  I immediately think there name should be _______. It could be something as simple as this person’s smile belongs with this person’s name and I fill in the blank (mentally of course)   Then after meeting them and finding out this person’s real name, I struggle occasionally and let the name that I mentally picked out for this person slip. If that’s ever happened to you from me-please forgive me, I’m working on it!  Though for this little girl, I spotted her over a year ago at church when she was just 6 months old or so. One look at this sweet, lovable face and the name association was easy: Grace.  She is every bit the name.  Sweet, sweet Grace! I had a great time photographing her and Jana and Grant- You guys are an awesome family and I am so honored that you chose JEM to take your family pics.

I have to write in here that Wildwood is  the place to go if you want your flesh to get eaten ALIVE!
