{Chace & Jaxon} fall in love with these newborn baby boys

Meet these brothers: Chace & Jaxon. They were born a little over two months ago and they were just peanuts when brought home…now they are packing on the pounds. I was able to hang out with these twins a couple weeks ago, along with Justin and Heather who are amazingly proud parents. It is written all over their faces. We love connections and feeling and capturing all this was easy to do since schnuzzling with their new baby boys is second nature. This was the first set of newborn twins I have photographed, and you can imagine that when one was sleeping, the other one would be awake and vice versa. It took us a little longer to coo both babies to sleep, but that doesn’t matter….they ended up sleeping, and cuddling next to eachother for quite a while. The bucket in one of these pictures was purchased with the intention of placing the two of them in their and even though that never worked, we went along with the idea that Jackson was 2 months old. I also have to add that my favorite picture was unexpected, I was testing out my light as Heather was taking her hands away from Chace’s head, as I loaded my card, I was drawn to this picture…her hands have so much love in them and it reminded me of a mother’s gentle love. Though it was only a short amount of time that I met you both, I know you are not only amazing people but you are amazing parents.

{A Tea Party for 3} Toledo’s Cutest Triplets

We had planned this tea party for over a month and when the day arrived, I woke up to realize that I didn’t have a tea set that was in once piece…I was planning to run to Meijer to see what they had. As I made it out the door, my neighbor happened to be up at the crack of dawn as well and conversation led to her finding out I needed a tea set. Perfect! She had this German tea set she found at a junk store for dirt cheap and wrapped it up for me, saving me a trip to the store. I say this because maybe some of you wonder, where does JEM get their things, or as some of you might refer to our precious trinkets and ‘what-not’s’ as garage sale items. Well here is a break down from The Triplets Tea Party Session:

—Tea Set—my neighbor, Sue, who got it at the Junk Store in Bowling Green. Children’s wood table—Antique Store in Dundee. Tiger Lily—Elaine’s Backyard (that is not a store, it is really from her backyard). Assorted vases—my wedding, which in essence came from a garage sale in the heart of South Toledo (there is a back-story to that). Rocking chair—Amanda bought it off Craigslist and I, in turn bought it off her. Pretty Table Cloth-Antique Store off Otter Creek Exit in Michigan. Blue Feather in Lauren’s hair–Blue Blue Pink Bowtique.

All these thing randomly purchased within the last 5 years and what a coincidence that Samantha, Abigail and Lauren matched perfectly! We couldn’t have planned it better if we really did plan this. LOL. These girls met me at Secor Park and we enjoyed a tea party until it got a little too hot and humid for us to all function outside. We packed up all our things and drove to the studio to finish up our shoot. I love watching these girls go from quiet and reserved to playful and talkative. I just can’t imagine the patience that Amanda and Seth have, day in and day out. Which, leads me to say-congratulations on 5 years of marriage this September!! Did you ever imagine within 5 years you would be blessed with 3 girls??!

{A Gorgeous, Evening Photo Shoot}

It’s been over two years that I was introduced to Amanda and Jeremy’s family and EVERY time I take their pictures I am so thankful to be able to capture them honestly and comfortably. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening to take these pictures and I need to note that when JEM does sessions, it can sometimes be more of an ‘event’ then a shoot. Why? First of all, we have rounds of things that might come out of our Jeeps (round one: ladders and blankets. round two: wagons, chairs, flower headbands) and then we have snack breaks, clothing changes, and an occasional potty break. After a few minutes of hanging out, Jeremy spotted deer tracks and showed Sophie them. This meant that for the entire shoot Sophie continuously asked when we were going to spot a deer. How excited she was when we actually did! That was my first time while on a shoot at Secor that we saw one within a stones throw. I was also excited to get pictures of just the two that got this whole thing started I couldn’t have asked for a better time or better company.

{For the Love of Family}

Eleven years of marriage, and three beautiful children…and Jeff and Kristen still have that sweet, caring love for eachother. It’s obvious. I drove from Toledo and they drove from FlatRock to meet in the middle at Monroe’s historical barn site. No one was out this evening except for us and it was so enjoyable to play around and to photograph their connections. Big brother Jake was honestly the biggest help as he rounded up two year old Cade. Little Cade LOVES to run…infact within 2 seconds of taking a family picture, dad said,”Ok, Cade, are you ready??” He set him down and Cade ran right to me with a huge grin on his face. I think most of his smiles came from escaping. I loved everything about this family as it is so nice to witness the clarity of their love.

{Toledo Newborn-Delilha} & Family

I am loving all these names lately-Sloane, Charlotte and now Delilha…how pretty. And yes, Delilha is a beauty. She came in with her big sister Leilani, who turned 3 recently. So while Delilha tried to sleep, I spent some girl time with Leilani, who I can’t help but love. She brought her magic princess wand and mom and dad didn’t mind that she turned us into frogs. We talked silly talk and laughed about absolutely nothing except the fact they we were talking in funny voices. I think sometimes I make myself laugh harder than the kids, which is even funnier. So, we all hung out in the studio and waited for Delilha to fall asleep, which she eventually did! Before packing up to leave, I took one look at this fresh newborn and thought how peaceful she looked just hanging out in the basket…though the shoot was officially ‘over’, sometimes we just can’t help continuing…and the last picture is just that, moments before heading out the door. Tony and Kristin-it was good to see you both again, you two are blessed- bigtime.
