We have had A LOT of newborns lately and one of our favorite subjects to photograph is a soon to be mom. Brandy certainly had the pregnancy glow and I enjoyed photographing her in the windy fields of Secor Metropark. The breeze met up with both of them and was so pretty as it whisked around  her hair.  Sean-you did a fantastic job after being gone for 10 days and getting in just hours before the shoot :)    Brandy you and I have a heart for converse, though my collection only consists of one junky pair from years ago and you, I believe, have everything from red, yellow, light blue, turquoise and green (right?!) Well here are a few of my favorites and soon I hope to meet your little baby sometime this summer!

I have known Gina now for about 6 months and I think I have come to learn something: things work out for her. Life seems to bend her way and I love that! I like to make appointments and add ish to  the the end of the time, especially for those with newborns, small children or those people juggling anything else in their lives so that it’s OK if they are not hear exactly on the dot. Well  baby Dean’s appointment kind of happened like that and I had just been reminiscing about a newborn that took only an hour to photograph and saying aloud that it will NEVER happen again. I was wrong! We had about an hour and a half to work with and Dean cooperated the ENTIRE time, and he was so sleepy and squishy and rolly and warm. I would have loved to have him stay longer but he was only 5 days old and had a doctor appointment to go to.

This blog shows the before and the with (so it is a tad long). Throughout taking Dean’s pictures in the basket, Rich and Gina were standing behind me, hugging and holding eachother and it felt so right. I would pause sometimes while taking Dean’s pictures and just watch how content he was sucking in on his chin…it is so cute what he does and I had never seen that before! Rich and Gina, you two are blessed.

OK all you JEM blog fans who have been deprived of posts, our number one stalker (you know who you are), Megan Swartz/Heidi Steinker and all you other followers who say our blogs brighten your day… it’s time for the ultimate and monumental, longest JEM blog ever!!!!  Yes, I know you are trying to control your excitement!

Before our fresh season begins, I can’t leave ALL of the shoots behind from my rewind 2010 blogs.  My intentions were to post individual blogs for each and every one of these shoots as there is a story and a smile and probably a laugh or two from all.   As a wise person once told me, intentions are just that, intentions.   So without further ado, this is one of the best feelings I have had in a long time, to be able to post highlights from so many awesome JEM shoots.

I love when a voice from the past contacts JEM for an important milestone.  Rachel was a bridesmaid from a wedding I photographed years ago ( 3 years ago can seem like a really long time) and then we found out that we have more friends in common than we thought and actually went to birthday parties as a kid together.  Lizzie D if you read this it was your party!  Well Rachel you have turned into a beautiful woman and you radiate the pregnancy glow.  I loved how you were so comfortable in front of the camera as I was able to capture some of your pure, natural beauty. Thank you.
