I love when a voice from the past contacts JEM for an important milestone.  Rachel was a bridesmaid from a wedding I photographed years ago ( 3 years ago can seem like a really long time) and then we found out that we have more friends in common than we thought and actually went to birthday parties as a kid together.  Lizzie D if you read this it was your party!  Well Rachel you have turned into a beautiful woman and you radiate the pregnancy glow.  I loved how you were so comfortable in front of the camera as I was able to capture some of your pure, natural beauty. Sarah and Mark are expecting their first baby girl in a couple of weeks.  We met at Secor Park (my fav) for an evening shoot of Sarah’s beautiful belly.  Of course I am completely and totally in my element when I’m in a field but it’s the best when my subjects don’t mind a bed of grass either.  When Sarah walked towards me in a gorgeous and flowy dress so many words came to mind, enchanted, serene, radiant, glowing….  It was so funny because I had never met Sarah before our shoot but she said, “I knew you would love this dress!”  So great when my/our style is recognized and shared with our clients.

Sarah, I loved photographing you so much!  Thank you.  Looking forward to meeting your little one when she arrives.  Mark, excellent job fixing the dress and being patient with us.  Isn’t your wife lovely?

Whew, this blog story could be really long…because it all started last week when Amanda asked if there were any openings soon because to be honest she didn’t know how much longer she would be pregnant for.  Well it was meant to be since I had just gotten a reschedule for that weekend! This baby boy or baby girl could be coming any day now.  In fact as I type this she could be at the hospital!  I will leave out details of me arriving way early, panicking, running to the library (we were meeting at the library) to check my email (which everyone and their brother must use the computers at the library since it was a 20 minute wait) breaking out in a cold sweat, and finally realizing all I need to do is pray that Amanda will call me (yes, the number had been left at the studio in the midst of my frazzled day) Well as soon as I lifted up my prayer, guess what?!  She called me and within minutes I was meeting her at the correct library at the correct time!

Nadeau family- you all are so gracious and wonderful.  Amanda, you are breathtaking.  I loved spending time with you guys and playing around with Sophie and Max.  I am so excited to see what baby #3 will be!

Gosh this was such a gorgeous shoot!  After photographing their wedding and lots of shoots in between, Kristi and Phil are now expecting their third child.   They will add a little baby boy to their two daughters in a few weeks.   Honestly, the only thing I could compare Kristi to as I was photographing her was a beautiful rainbow.  Maybe a colorful, vintage, pastel rainbow but still a radiant rainbow.  Makes me think of the Rolling Stones song, She’s a Rainbow.  If you haven’t heard that song yet you need to.  Its such a pretty song but fun at the same time.   I think the Rolling Stones said it best, she’s like a rainbow!   Don’t you agree?  So beautiful.

A very good friend of mine asked me to do her maternity portraits and I couldn’t have been more thrilled.  It was 50 degrees here the other day, in December might I add, and we took advantage of it.  What a gorgeous woman.  I posted an up close shot of Karen so you could see that she has one blue eye and one brown eye… I think that is soooo cool!   She will be having a boy in a  few weeks…. can’t wait to meet the little guy!  Karen you are breathtaking!!!!
