{Ready, everyone together now…AWWWWW!!}

Personal JEM post time!!! I think I might have mentioned my secret country side one time or another. Most do not know of this secret as I’m kinda girly in nature. I love jean jackets, work boots, dust, farms, scruffy beards, camping, the great outdoors AND adorable horseys. My Aunt and Uncle have a horse who had a little (okay, maybe a big) baby last week. I headed over to the “farm” to meet this little guy. He was only 4 days old in these pictures. This is for all you horse/animal lovers out there and for you Aunt Margie!!

{Tabitha & Bethany} Wellspring Photography

Bethany and Tabitha are cousins who own Wellspring Photography and we were so excited that they asked us to capture some updated pictures of the two of them for their website. Where do we begin with these two? I felt like after we photographed them and walked around downtown Toledo we really got to know them. We had been emailing back and forth for a while but never met in person (I think that happens to a lot of photographer friends out there) until a few weeks ago. Things that we have in common aside from our passion to be behind the lens are: an extreme joy for the sweeter things in life, laughing A. LOT. , shoes, TJ-Maxx, and the ability to dream BIG. Which, leads to one of my favorites of you both: Laughing in front of downtown Toledo’s famous Dream sign. What? The sign’s not famous? Well, it should be considering it is awe-some. I admit that I was a little nervous to photograph these two girls who also happen to be really great photographers…what if they don’t like them? What if it’s not what they have in mind? What if I trip? LOL. BUT, they were so easy to photograph because they don’t take themselves too seriously and they happen to always be laughing. You girls rock both behind and in front of the camera. Thank you both for hanging out with JEM and we need to do it again!

Longest JEM Blog EVER!

OK all you JEM blog fans who have been deprived of posts, our number one stalker (you know who you are), Megan Swartz/Heidi Steinker and all you other followers who say our blogs brighten your day… it’s time for the ultimate and monumental, longest JEM blog ever!!!! Yes, I know you are trying to control your excitement!

Before our fresh season begins, I can’t leave ALL of the shoots behind from my rewind 2010 blogs. My intentions were to post individual blogs for each and every one of these shoots as there is a story and a smile and probably a laugh or two from all. As a wise person once told me, intentions are just that, intentions. So without further ado, this is one of the best feelings I have had in a long time, to be able to post highlights from so many awesome JEM shoots.

{Laila} Party Time

You might recognize this cutie from the previous year’s blog. Those cheeks and big blue eyes aren’t easy to forget. Something we offer here at JEM is to photograph birthday parties and then design a birthday book as a keepsake. I thought I would show you the book that was designed for little Laila. Her birthday party was celebrated in downtown Toledo at Pizza Papalis and was such a nice place to celebrate. I hadn’t seen her since Christmas and I loved seeing her walking all around. She was passed around from realitives to friends and everyone got their time with her. The birthday cake went over really well and a sugar coma followed. My favorites though of Laila are of her and her pink balloon. So cute!

These Will Change Your Life (well, atleast your eating habbits)

Last year one of our clients made us delicious cakeballs. I remember them sitting in the studio for a couple hours, not knowing how incredibly delicious a cakeball really tasted. Infact, you don’t know until you experience it for yourself. Yes, it is an experience. After we tried one, we each understood that we had missed out on these for way too long and we had to make up for lost time. This Christmas season rolled around and right after Thanksgiving Jennifer made the excited statement that she couldn’t wait any longer for Jill’s cakeballs. She was going to place an order to ensure a timely turnaround. This order was eaten between all the employees at JEM within a few days. Please mind you that we only have one other worker here. 40 cakeballs between three girls means these are THE MOST MELT- IN -YOUR -MOUTH VELVET CAKE BALLS EVER!!! We had to place two more orders and we are so overjoyed to have chased clients/friends out of our studio saying, ‘YOU MUST TRY ONE OF THESE, THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!’
