Silly Monkey Boutique will be at the Sylvania Arts and Crafts Festival this Sunday from 9:30-4:00 at Lourdes College. They can custom design most anything!

Tuesday this week we had a successful day photographing Silly Monkey Boutique’s clothing line on some very precious children. We started at 9 and ended at 6 and somewhere around 4 a little boy named Jack waited patiently while we finished up photographing a little model. You see, we have known Jack and his mom for some time now but when Jack popped into the studio last week to say hello he was sooooo shy. He clung to his mom’s leg and was a little timid towards the new studio. So in between last week and this week Jill talked to Jack all about getting his picture taken, and this along with picking some flowers from their backyard to give to JEM helped him so much when it got time to get in front of the studio lights. Jill mentioned that Jack is also being taught how to be a gentleman and we agree that you can never go wrong with giving hand picked flowers.
Here Jack is giving one, solitary hand picked flower to Jen. The thought behind it is so beautiful and innocent and Jen’s reaction has ‘thank you Jack’ written all over her face. After giving Jen her flower he headed over to me and handed me a matching Black-eyed Susan that I wore in my hair for the rest of the day. Thank you Jill and Jack!

Personal blog time! I was up and at’em at 6:30am this past Sunday morning not to compete like over 700 ambitious athletes in this city, but to be a photographer and cheerleader for one of best friends at the Sylvania Triathlon. She competes year after year in between being a mom of three kids, a wife and a HUGE list of other things. This is the 8th consecutive year of competing and it never gets old seeing her cross the finish line. You are so inspiring Ang! Amazing job out there!

I have the best of intentions when it comes to creating things. For instance, I tell my husband that there is no need to buy wall hangings for the living room because I have the best of intentions of painting a huge canvas that is going to hang above our television center. Or how I have about 20 or so wood square pieces of every variety-oak, cherry, walnut and zebra just waiting in the back of my closet to be made into a mosaic on the other wall. And then there is my bucket of fabric, tool, ribbon and buttons just screaming at me every time I glimpse their way saying, “DO SOMETHING WITH ME!” It just makes me think to myself, one day I will have time to put forth these ideas but until that day comes I am so THANKFUL for those people who are really good at manifesting their creativity and sharing it with the rest of us! So this post is dedicated to the awesome woman who made these delicate, o-so tiny hair flowers for our tiniest JEM’s. I photographed her daughters a few weeks ago and just raved about the hair flower that she made. Then an unexpected delivery arrived just a short week later! Three beautiful flower headbands! Just the fact that you put forth the effort to do that made my day Steph! Thank YOU!!
