We have a great opportunity to partner with a local childrens’ boutique, Silly Monkey Boutique, in hosting a mini session day event! We have never done anything like this before but know that it will be a big success!! Currently the store sells their personalized merchandise on their Etsy site: www.sillymonkeyboutique.etsy.com and will be launching their website soon after our mini session day. We love supporting local businesses and this business so happens to be run by a mother-daughter team doing what they love.   So if you have ever thought about checking us out, now would be a great time!

The older I get (and I’m getting old) the more I appreciate the small things in life.  One of my clients and her two daughters stopped by the studio the other day, not for a shoot, but to bring JEM some muffins and a gift for the new studio.  Of all the things people have to do in a day, it means the world that they stop by our small studio to bring us a gift.  Really Stef, it means so very much!   The muffins were gone so quickly that I didn’t get a picture of them but that just means they were delicious.  The little gift was a wind chime for either the outside or to use to get attention of all our little clients.  It’s the best when kids are so excited about gifts that they open them immediately for you!  Adorable!

My little buddy Simon (or Si to me) and his mommy stopped by the studio yesterday while I was working for a quick visit.   Simon wanted to see my new studio or as he calls it “Jen’s new house.”  So adorable that he thinks I live here.   They brought JEM a plate of frosted oatmeal raisin cookies that are to die for!!!   They are still being enjoyed this morning with coffee!   Had to blog my little buddy, his hilarious shirt and cute little grin. 

Thanks for the visit, cookies and chattin it up you two!   So fun eating cookies with you Si!

Anyone sick of reading about our JEM gifts?  No?  Ok, so we got two really cool gifts this week.  The first is a welcome basket from our neighbor Elaine (who works at Hair by the way in the Wingate Hotel, she does excellent hair if you need such a person).  This basket isn’t any old basket, its filled with an assortment of coffee, treats, pens, candles (that Emily is not allowed to light), paper and delicious gummy Jolly Ranchers that are just about gone.   Thank you Elaine!!!!  The next gift is of course flowers because JEM loves flowers.  Aren’t they just so pretty?  Thank you Bob and Bev for the studio warming flowers!

Let’s just say Shanyn is to finances like butter is to bread: really good. She has a plethora of words that describe what she does and it goes something like this: Certified Senior Advisor, PHD candidate, President of the Stewart Group, registered investment advisor representative, etc. Quite honestly, my understanding of finances resembles my knowledge of astrology.
