Not only was this wedding the MOST perfect Spring day, but it was also St. Patrick’s Day! Who would have thought that it would have been 70 degrees, sunny, flowers blooming and the photographer would be sweating on March 17th 2012. I was so happy that Megan and Ryan had such a beautiful day. I have been talking with Megan about this-and-that for months now and EVERY SINGLE TIME I talk to her, get a text from her, a message, she is amazingly sweet. You know in the cartoons where the princess strolls along and there is that fresh air breeze and flowers behind her… that’s what Megan is like. We actually shared a moment while I was taking her portrait. Honestly, I teared up. We had talked so much and looked forward to this grand day for so long, she looked so beautiful that the tears started flowing! I was glad when we could both laugh about it! I loved this gorgeous day!! Thank you to you both Megan and Ryan!

Dale brings such positivity to each and every wedding. Always happy and always smiling. JEM gets so excited when we find out we’re working with Dale. Not only does it mean a great dinner time, but it also means we get to spot him doing things like this… videographing and ab workout in one!
Dale being the professional that he is. These were the only serious images we could find of Dale.
He even puts his life on the line for that impromptu moment…
And our most favorite, Dale tackling the tall grasses!
All I’d want is for you to be my sweet honey bee. Nate and Natalie, what to say? Happy tears as you said your wedding vows, listened to a poem being read, walked down an aisle married, kissed a hand, hugged those you loved, and so many more times that eyes swelled with overwhelming happiness. Nate and Natalie, what to say? Happy tears as you said your wedding vows, listened to a poem being read, walked down an aisle married, kissed a hand, hugged those you loved, and so many more times that eyes swelled with overwhelming happiness. This blog is taking me forever to write because I have so much to share, and I want to share it in just the right way. Nate. O Nate. You have grown into someone that I love more than I did a decade ago. When I see you with Natalie, and the way you treat her, the way you simply kiss her randomly on the forehead or hand, the way you describe her and the way that you cherish her, it’s obvious how much you love her. And Natalie you are truly the snow to Nathan’s winter. We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely you.
Finally we have an official sneek peak. F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. You would think that my own family would get special treatment? Nate started sending me indescribable texts outlying the consequences if I didn’t get his wedding pictures up. This is only a joke if you think it is. You see, I never know when my brother is joking. He has convinced me of many things in the past, many so absurd that I have said, just wait till you cry wolf. When he proposed to Natalie over the summer, it took me a good 5 minutes to believe that he truly did propose andshe said YES. But for as much as Nate tells ‘jokes’ he also wears his emotions on his sleeve. It runs in the family, and apparently in Natalie’s family too.
This past winter has been to some, wonderful, but to others a major let down. I for one, love the snow. Nate and Natalie got married at the end of January, when there was actually a fresh layer of snow from a storm that night before. It set the seen for a beautiful winter wedding at Walden Woods, near Ann Arbor, MI. This setting was perfect and fit their personalities to a T. Both, loving the outdoors, they collected pine cones and milk-thistle from all over Michigan to use as their centerpieces, they gave away baby trees for all of the guests, and they reused wine corks for their place card holders. Peggy, Natalie’s mom made shawls for the girls and also Natalie’s veil…infact these were finished day of! I enjoy the small things of a wedding that add up to make it so personal. Also, I couldn’t have photographed this wedding without Colleen Barrett of Blue Tree Photography, whom many of these pictures were taken by her. Coll….thank you for helping me ‘let go’ so I could dance this night away.
Nate and Natalie, I love you both….here’s to a lifetime of happiness!
This wedding blog is a long time coming. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this couple. So many emotions felt on this day in the fall. Amanda, you are one of the kindest people I have met, always a smile on your face and as Jimmy’s best man said, your laugh is [...]
This wedding blog is a long time coming. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this couple. So many emotions felt on this day in the fall. Amanda, you are one of the kindest people I have met, always a smile on your face and as Jimmy’s best man said, your laugh is contagious. You are both circled by so many close friends and I was so glad to be able to catch some of those moments. I loved after you slipped into your gown, how your mom and you were both trying not to cry, but you couldn’t help yourselves and tissues were needed. I relate to this.
One of the very nice things about having a ceremony at 2 in the afternoon is that we are able to relax and go to different places for pictures before heading to the reception. This was one of the most gorgeous days I can remember of last year. Their wasn’t an ounce of humidity in the air and it was one of those 75 degree days.
Everything about your wedding day was beautiful. Your families are wonderful and you deserve a lifetime full of happiness. P.S. I have some of your makeup that was kept in my fannypack :) To view more of Amanda and Jimmy’s wedding day, click the slideshow below.

December 30th in the year 2011, Jill and Chris were wed in holy matrimony at the beautiful and historical, Nazareth Hall. The snowy day we were supposed to have turned into 45 degrees of rain. Thanks Ohio for ruining all of my snowy bride/groom poses I had in mind!! It’s a great and wonderful thing though that Chris and Jill are so stinkin in love that regardless of our surroundings and backdrop true emotion and feeling shines through my lens. I absolutely love it. My most favorite image from this wedding was a quick snapshot I got just before we headed into the reception. Chris was standing in the doorway holding Jill’s flowers and he was gazing at her. There was so much he was saying in his gaze. Those are the best kind. You can see Jill’s reflection in the glass and she isn’t looking but his eyes never left her. I love the way a man looks at a woman he loves. Even better, I love capturing that in an image for ‘her’.
Jill and Chris, you are two of the kindest people I have ever met. Thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful day. Enjoy your peek!
