 That’s right! Ali and Nick done got hitched! We have known these two for over two and half years and that is because they have been engaged for a very long time and have had us booked for over two years now! And, since we have known them for this long, we know that it’s all good if we use the phrase, done gone.  This was one of the largest weddings we have ever photographed.  I think half of the village of Ottawa was helping celebrate. Celebrate is not even the right word to describe the MASSIVE  party that happened starting at around 3:00. Once these two were pronounced husband and wife, a family friend was hitching up the transportation  tractor to get from the church to the hall… the coolers were stacked and I was thrilled to take part in this hayride.  Nick is to country what Ali is to gorgeous. These two make a perfect pair and we overheard Nick being sweet without even knowing it.  Jen and I agreed that Ali definitely was one of the most chill brides we have photographed and  you were truly glamorous/g-orgeous.  Even if someone had ants in their pants, your day went by as smooth as can be. wink. wink.  We also can’t leave the blog without saying thank you for the apple pie

Jen and I usually photograph weddings seperately but occasionaly (2 or 3 times a year) we get to photograph a wedding together and this makes for an unbelievably awesome day.  Since, you can’t ever take yourself too seriously, we purchased special fanny packs for Ali and Nick’s wedding. We donated them at the end of the night and I think it is only fair to post a picture tomorrow on how ‘cool’ we are.

To say that Deb and John are perfect for each other is an understatement. I feel like they not only make each other better, but they make everyone else around them better too, including me.  You two are  kind, giving, and if this makes sense, humble? Weird word to choose, but it works.  I could state the obvious as well: Gorge-ous(sssssssss)

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day (yes, it was a tad warm during the afternoon) but I’ll take clear skies and warmth over the alternative. Ok, but seriously so much emotion was felt on this day.  When people love you so much, and pure happiness surrounds you it is amazing how it fills the air.  I wish I could remember the words of the pastor that married the two of you, but it was one of the sweetest messages given, I do remember that.  Just look at the way he looks at you during the ceremony! I have to mention this: a couple days before the wedding Deb mentioned she wondered what the gift was that John would be giving her. When it turned out to be a digital SLR camera, I thought I was going to be the one to cry. What an incredible gift that I know you will treasure Deb and I can’t wait to see some of the photos you will be taking in the future!  John, at’ a boy! I adore the two of you and I am so thankful to call you my friends.  A dinner date can’t come soon enough!

Kimberly and Carl planned a beautiful, simplistic wedding at Kimberlys’  parents home church, located on the University of Findlay’s Campus.  Guests came from Nebraska, Oklahoma and Kansas to celebrate this marriage.  What to say about these two?? Just look at the GLOW on both of their faces…yup, Carl and Kimberly were beyond happy on this Sunday in July. They opted for a first look and this made it so much nicer on them throughout the day.  It was beyond easy for me to capture the two of them genuinely smiling and laughing.  Kimberly, I loved, loved, loved your dress and you truley looked so stunning. Carl-dapper is your word   Since most of the guests were headed out either that Sunday evening or the following day, the reception was a relaxed affair. Before Grandma and Grandpa left, they made sure to open their gift, which  was a beautiful teapot, dipped in silver that had been part of the family since the early 1900′s.  To accompany this, was a perfectly handcrafted letter explaining it all from Grandma. Is this the JEM Blog?  Am I really posting something?  YES, in fact I am!  It’s been a while since a blog has been posted and that means JEM is busy beyond belief.  We are so thankful to all our JEM clients and for all the wonderful faces we get to photograph everyday.  Sorry blogs have been sparse, but we will do our best to get back at it!

We are going to try and do things differently with some of our wedding postings.  For this special wedding I wanted to put together a slideshow to show the beautiful day that Abi and Codey had.  They have been extremely patient with this posting and for that I THANK YOU so much.  So without further ado, sit back, grab your snack pack or popcorn, relax and enjoy the show.
