So for Tessa’s senior shoot we went to one of the best places in Toledo, well actually we caravanned  within a mile radius all over downtown Toledo.  Tessa has the edgy urban with a mix of -o so pretty- tied in.  I first met her a few years ago and when I did, I remember thinking this girl is gorgeous. I was so happy that she contacted me for her senior pictures.  I am loving all the color she chose for her outfits and I think the yellow coat, if ever you got sick of it could find a nice home in my closet.  Tessa- though it might have been a little wee bit cold when we took these pictures, you never once complained…I am so happy how the ‘dream’ turned out and my wish for you is that you dream BIG and you dream OFTEN.  Then, chase it.

A couple weeks ago I was able to meet up with Gina and Rich at Maumee Bay State Park. We had rescheduled this session due to NW Ohio’s unpredictable weather and we were not going to let a few sprinkles get in the way of our session this time.  Before they drove up to meet me, I was scoping out the area and the orange leaves holding onto the  tree branches were asking to be in the pictures so I was so happy to see their first outfit matched these leaves perfectly. I also can’t believe I am typing this but I loved the overcast sky in the yellow field. It makes me want to shnuggle up to my honey to keep me warm.   That’s basically all Rich and Gina had to do for me to get a great picture of them both.  They each have a complimenting personality and Rich it’s so great to see you showing some love for the camera 🙂  Gina, you my dear are soooooo pretty with your dark eyes and hair…you will make a beautiful bride in Jamaica!! I want to see some pictures!

Kelly and Jason were married on a beautiful fall October day.  Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg.  I absolutely love when a wedding and reception is all at one place.  Gives us time to relax and not always rush off somewhere.  Doesn’t happen very much, but when it does, makes for a great day!  Of course JEM gets so much business from referrals so at this particular wedding I knew so many people from past weddings and shoots.  It was so amazing to see everyone again, meet new family members and be a part of this wedding day.  Kelly and Jason’s ceremony was so very simple, but it’s during these most simple of ceremonies where I witness the most love and affection.  The single tear that Jason wiped from his eye as they were announced almost made me shed a tear.  So beautiful to see the emotion through my camera.  Kelly and Jason, thank you so much for all your kind words and allowing me to photograph your day.  When’s the next Jenkins wedding!!??

{The LaRoy’s} Incredibly Unique

November 12th, 2010

So I could write a book on this family and their personalities from Sammy the youngest to Alisha and Josh who started it all 🙂  Traditional is the last word that comes to mind and this I love…I love how each individual child is just that: an individual.  I never came from a big family but I have an awesome career that lets me get to know families and the dynamics that make them unique.  We started this photo shoot at Josh’s parents house and it was beautiful! The rows of yellow maples and the red cabin that was built years ago made a great place to photograph. Having this many children there is NEVER a dull moment. EVER. Ha! Energy thrived from one child to the next and when we were trying to get a picture of them huddled together, the tackling effect really brought a lot of excitement.  The next stop after this was to a field up the road that was a perfect backdrop for the two youngest to have a tea party. These two girls were soooo excited.  Something here reminded me of when I was a little girl. I could color for hours as a child but if my mom joined me and colored with me it was one of the best feelings to have her next to me.  So when Evelyn and Sammy were having the tea party and their mom joined them…it was pure joy.  Alisha and Josh-the two of you are not only incredible people you are absolutely incredible parents.

Extra Note: During the tea party it was an oddly warm night and it started raining one of those warm rains (this was three weeks ago) and I loved how we stayed out there while Josh adamantly exclaimed, it will pass.  It only lasted about 2 minutes of light sprinkling and we continued on with slightly damp hair.  This of course, made this a little extra special for the girls 🙂

Get ready for some of the sweetest children in the world! I have been able to watch these two grow up since Giada was a baby and when I saw them a couple weeks ago for their annual photo session, Giada grabbed my hand immediately, looked up at me with her big, glassy brown eyes  and started jumping up and down.  Talk about a nice introduction! She is also talking up a storm and this little one loves her fruit snacks, right Jackie and Matt?  Then there is my buddy  Luke. Luke belly laughed until tears were in his eyes.  He made up stories about Clifford doing cartwheels on my head and just couldn’t control the laughing.  He had me in tears too-it was so contageous.  Can’t you just hear him laughing in these??  I was laughing The best thing about these two is how they interact, a little playful love but Luke let’s his sister give him kisses on the cheek even if he does wipe it off immediately afterwords 🙂
