Our pre-wedding meeting happened at Inside the Five Brewery in downtown Sylvania and I am pretty sure we ended up talking details about the wedding at some point, but Matt and Jessie are more like friends. In fact, I’ve known Jess since we were young. My family moved into her childhood home when I was in middle school, and that is just a random useless fact for anyone reading this 🙂
Ironically enough, we met at a brewery for our pre-wedding ‘meeting’ and we took impromptu engagement pictures at J.Trees Cellars in Techuseh, MI. and I met Matt for the first time.
These two met while Jess was a traveling nurse and living out of her car, and Matt asked her on date to a remote mountain somewhere in Oregon. No way his friends thought would this girl, Jess, say YES to this guy she had only been talking to…but she brought a bottle of wine and a bottle of mace (just incase). Turns out, they are PERECT for each other. I love you guys!! I will come out to Oregon one day and visit. You invited me, it will happen.
And so…the wedding day. As most Toledo Saturdays seemed to go, rain was 90% in the forecast. Eight clear umbrellas were packed in the back of my car and a rain poncho was tucked into the sleeve of my camera bag. It rained, but not until after pictures. Jess got ready at The Renaissance in downtown Toledo and their first look was full of wind so strong her veil blew off. Both the ceremony and reception were at The Registry Bistro which hands downs, has some of the best food in Toledo.
The ceremony was short and sweet, the band was incredible, and the speeches hilarious.
A short blog on one of my favorite couples. 😉 Ok, a JEM wedding blog is never short, but I always intend for it to be.
A shout out to : Bee for the Day, Haftner Flowers (incredible as always!), BlueWater Kings Band, and Mager Designs and my amazing friend and assistant, Angie Gerber from Angela Gerber Photography.

This was one of the happiest couples I have photographed in a long time. These two are truly best friends and their love for each other is evident. Dan and Katelyn’s vows were so touching, and their first dance was so moving. I’ve never cried at a first dance before until theirs. If Katelyn were an article of clothing, she would be her sparkly shoes. I mean, spreading sparkle everywhere. Hence, so many sparkly shoe pictures 🙂 Your families are genuine and you will have an amazing forever together. I know it! Thank you for letting me be part of your day. I mean, look how happy EVERYONE is!
Shout out to my girl, Kellie from Kellie Robinson Photography for being my second.

Jason and Julie {Port Clinton Wedding}October 13th, 2018Julie and Jason were married over Labor Day weekend, when it was blazing hot in Port Clinton, Ohio. It really didn’t matter. Julie and Jason were married over Labor Day weekend, when it was blazing hot in Port Clinton, Ohio. It really didn’t matter. All day, they continued to say, “this is exactly what we wanted,” and, “this is perfect” with an occasional, ‘Dear God, it’s hot.’  Julie and Jason met when she owned a landscaping company. They have a thing for flowers, and we were overly excited by her bouquet. It turned out gorgeous. Garden View did an amazing job.  They were married on the water, outside Dock’s Beach House, and it was a beautiful, casual affair. We absolutely loved this laid-back wedding. The reception even included a guest bringing out a bubble machine 🙂 ha!
Thank you to my girl, Kellie, from Kellie Robinson Photography for being my second shooter. I love you girl.
Julie and Jason-I’m so glad you chose me to document your day. You two are the best!

This day called for rain and we planned as if it were going to pour. Shelby was actually looking forward to using the clear umbrellas for pictures. I mean, really? We had all the backup ideas discussed but when Saturday rolled around, it never rained a drop.
These two are extremely laid back and their relationship is easy. They were high school sweethearts, so that is why there is the Whitmer HS picture thrown into the mix 🙂 I felt a little spoiled with how much time they allowed for pictures after the ceremony. We enjoyed Secor Metropark and afterwards the party bus dropped us off in downtown Sylvania for a few pictures. The reception was at Lourdes, which was fitting as well, since Shelby coached cheerleading there. I like to ask the groom to give me three words as to how you are feeling before the ceremony and Kyle smiled and said, ‘excited, nervous….and nervous’ Those emotions are beautiful to capture as he saw Shelby walk down the aisle. Much love to the two of you!! I’m so glad I was able to be a part of your day.
Shout out to my amazing assistant, Colleen Schmidt. I love you Coll.
